Didn't this same thing occur there several years ago? The guy was glowing about a year later and then died of cancer.

Seriously though as someone who works with ionizing radiation I can say that a little nuclear wast can be just what the doctor ordered sometime.

"Small" being a relative term, of course, i.e.:

Japanese? Exposed to radiation? Know what he's waiting to be able to do? One word:

HADOUKEN!

2006-06-25 08:03:23 PM
"Exposed" is rather vague. Did he get a little dose of radiation or did he lick a hot rod?

Anti nuclear power propaganda. Hope you all like global warming and pollution, because without nuclear power we must burn oil like mad to get around.

Oh, and don't mention dams (they cause ecological disasters and clog with silt and wont scale with increasing energy demand) and windmills / wind power. Wind power could be used in conjunction with nuclear but alone it wont cut it.

Tidal power might be great but since its essentially limitless and free don't expect energy companies to cut their own legs off.

Long term health problems is a statistcally higher probability of cancer.

It's all fun and games until someone sees Cherenkov radiation inside their eyeballs.

That's the truth. See the blue flash and your lifespan is measured in hours and days, not in months and years.

TFA said nothing of any substance.

What form was the nuclear waste? Was it liquid? Was it gaseous? Particulate? Was it airborne? Did he inhale, injest, or have it enter through a wound? What isotopes were present and in which chemical form? Will this be a whole-body radiation dose or will critical organs be affected?

TFA is useless. If the guy inhaled a schnozzful of plutonium dust, that's a huge problem. Not so much an issue if he was breathing air with a lot of Xenon in it.

Bah, bunch of crap. Everybody hurry and panic!!
