I can finally say it:

I submitted this with a better headline.

I have no idea how people drink Anheuser-Busch.. I think I would rather drink my own urine before I downed an Anheuser-Busch / Coors / Schlitz / Natural Ice / Budweiser.

2006-06-21 02:47:57 PM
Thank you. I'm not the only one who think Budweiser and Bud Light are the two shiattiest beers on the planet.

2006-06-21 02:48:03 PM
Not surprising, since A-B's been lagging far behind Miller in crappy beer sales.

2006-06-21 02:48:25 PM
You know it'll be huge with the lesbian crowd. Their campaign slogan:

"Who can resist a nice Busch Liquor?"

/sorry
//not really

Hmm. Can "Whiskey Lite" be far behind?

Wait, you mean B to the E hasn't been an overwhelming success? I thought everyone was jumping at the chance to pay $8 for 4 10 ounce cans of Zima mixed with Red Bull.

"If this trend continues, we at Anheuser-Busch will have to re-evaluate our business model going forward in terms of expanding beyond beer and broadening our position within the total alcohol industry,"

Anybody who can say that sentence with a straight face clearly hasn't had enough alcohol.

all beer sucks anyway

Sake is more of a really strong beer in the 30 proof range.

Any PBR fans out there?

I can't stand beer snobs. Serve it cold, that's all that matters.

For the volume of sales Budweiser has,you would think they could come down in price a little.

/just sayin'

Hell I drink bud all the time, cause I like drinking something that goes down easy. I like other beers but I'm too old to give a shiat about being a snob about a prolish drink like beer.

Wine on the other hand..

The latest I've ever witnessed beer snobbery was.. like 3 years out of college. After that it's just arrested development. Move on.

Oh god I just vurped.

2006-06-21 02:58:09 PM
I've noticed what the modern beer snobbery is that lots of hops means quality. It's like measuring how good cake is by how chocolate it is.

2006-06-21 02:58:12 PM
You cant just jump into that business. Its a serious multi-year process. I wonder who they will buy?

i kind of agree. that's why when i have a party at my place, my friends that work at Sea World bring all their free beer they get, and no one really complains. sure...it's not great...but it was free :)

Phil... its not that I don't agree with you for wanting a beer that goes down easy, but you can find something that is not a natural laxative (bud is brewed with rice). Budweiser is diarhea water.

From their website

Rice

Rice provides Budweiser with its characteristic lightness, crispness and refreshing taste.

Many brewers use only four ingredients in beer - water, barley malt, hops and yeast.

The additional step of brewing Budweiser with rice provides the balance necessary to create its trademark refreshing taste, "drinkability" and crispness. While "extra," this step is critical to the unique taste of Budweiser.

Anheuser-Busch is the largest purchaser of rice in the United States, accounting for more than 8 percent of all domestic rice consumption. The company owns rice mills in Arkansas and California.

From TFA: Since 1995, beer has lost 5 percent of its U.S. market share to wine and spirits,

So, they aren't losing market share in the beer area persay. I always wonder about the beer snobs. They're kinda like soccer fans.

Phil Moskowitz: The latest I've ever witnessed beer snobbery was.. like 3 years out of college.

I dunno. I think the the sugary shots with sexual sounding names falls more in that range. Beer snob is more mid to late 20s.

I worked with a guy that downed two cases of PBR a day. Hot, right off the back seat of his car. By lunchtime he had downed one case. Would go to luch with us and have 2-3 beers with lunch. By 5:00 he had finished the 2nd case. After hours he switched over to Cutty Sark. And I never once saw him slur or stumble. I got a hangover just watching.

Noooo! It's like a reverse Jesus miracle: everything they touch turns to water!
