So if I e-mail someone as a joke and sign it with someone elses name then I've stolen their identity and can go to jail? I would think in order to be identity theft that financial, medical or some kind of private data would need to be retrieved.

If they believed him and sent him the pics on their own accord, then it's no fault but theirs. I've had plenty of spam e-mails come through with my friends names in the address name and subject line, but I didn't sue or press charges on the sender for impersonation or identity theft. By the way, impersonating someone is NOT identity theft. I don't even think it's a crime if done in the virtual world.

For people that didn't READ THE FARKING ARTICLE you would realize what he did:

1. Pose as a friend of theirs from highschool and ask for a bikini picture for "her" art class (Saying if "she" failed the art class "she" would lose her scholarship) .

He would use real information from the victim's page and her friends page to supply the victim with real information.

2. Once said picture was sent he would BLACKMAIL them into sending him a nude photo with the threat to post their bikini picture all over the internet if they didn't.

May we please see the evidence?
