He dropped out of the Giro because he was hurt, right? So that injury hasn't been a problem?

Yeah, I think he had some mysterious "back pain". He rode the Giro as more of a warmup than anything else, and dropping out didn't seem like that big a deal (it was on the second to last of the 20-something stages). Anyway, I haven't heard any reference to it during the TdS.

Well, now that Basso's made some improvements in his time trials, it should make for an interesting July.
