Over-rated!

Well, his basketball ability, not his ability to blow.

That's the first time JJ has ever driven in the lane in his life.

/add his stellar driving skills to those of Bobby Hurley and Jay Williams

He needs to assfark somebody in a hotel to get street cred.

What the hell are you thinking J.J.?

Also, isn't .11 really high?

The Crushing Silence of Non-Production

Not at all. The legal limit is 0.08 and that's supposed to like 2 beers. So I would think that 0.11 would only be like 3 beers. Of course, it all depends on when you drank them and how fast your body metabolizes alcohol.

Plus I don't really know anything about this subject.

I just drink the alcohol.

Please don't let this hurt his draftability and let him fall to my Jazz . . . yes I'm a non-mormon from NJ but I love Andrei Kirilenko's game

Only a .11? I am guessing if it were the regular season he would have averaged a .29.

2006-06-13 03:31:53 PM
.11? Oh come on. That's like gargling with Listerine.

2006-06-13 03:32:15 PM
so, sports stars and musicians all have a bunch of friends looking for handouts. why don't they just employ one (or more) of these friends to be the driver/bag holder? you can give back to your crew and not risk giving up millions.

.11? Wuss. Kurt Busch drives Nascar races at twice that.

Also, it used to be .10 in most states. So, in reality having a BAC of .11 is probably no worse than driving home sober after being up for 20 hours... actually, that's probably worse...

/Still don't like the jack-ass.

I hope this doesn't hurt his chances to make millions of dollars by cleverly bouncing a ball and throwing it into a metal hoop while eluding tall men.

Went to high school with him, had him in good amount of classes.

He was pretty cool, but sometimes you could tell he was just being a complete dick for no other reason than he was getting picked up for his basketball skills. Roanoke even made a JJ Redick day...makes me want to hurt someone and my head asplode.

Have to do it - HA HA!

What's with the "unlawful use of highway" charge. Is that because you're not supposed to be using the highways when you are drunk? Or is there something else that he did on that road that is illegal?

2006-06-13 03:39:41 PM
According to this BAC calculator, that's about 7 beers in 2 hours.

Obviously he was having gay sex with the highway.

Does anyone know if pulling away from a checkpoint is cause to pull someone over?

I mean I'm sure some people will obviously be avoiding the law and swerving, etc..but...

I know people who were sober, didn't have anything in the car & just didn't want to wait in line. Knew a side route. Is this probable cause?

2006-06-13 03:48:08 PM
I thought you were 'supposed' to be able to turn away from checkpoints w/o giving rise to probable cause (so pigs can pull you over)...

/no sympathy other than for freedom from checkpoints

He's old enough to drink?

Must have been shirtless night at Bananas.

2006-06-13 03:49:24 PM
He made an illegal u-turn to evade the checkpoint, and that's what brought them after him.

The local newspaper (http://www.newsobserver.com/102/story/450147.html) has his address listed. He lives just a few miles from me.

Hahaha! I'll have to go visit him.

Another over paid, very spoiled kid who thinks he is entitled ...entitled to everything. Just as I said anbout dustin diamond, it is time to grow up. In addtion, J. J. shoudl be very happy and count his blessings that he did not kill someone while he was DUI.

2006-06-13 03:51:55 PM
I like how 1 beer is possible impairment....

/Why do people think drinking is so evil? BAC should be what it was orginally, like .15 or something...

/someone in here will know I'm sure...

2006-06-13 03:52:55 PM
I just don't understand how with whatever money or entourages these guys have, why they get caught with a DUI? Why can't they have Turtle drive?

/victory!!!!!!

Working in a law office near campus for a semester, the record for one of my clients was .285. Another intern had someone hit .300. They were both tiny girls.

drb9: They tacked that on for his U-turn. Seems pretty piddily to me:

NCGS 20-140.3:

§ 20‑140.3. Unlawful use of National System of Interstate and Defense Highways and other controlled‑access highways.

On those sections of highways which are or become a part of the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways and other controlled‑access highways, it shall be unlawful for any person:

(1) To drive a vehicle over, upon, or across any curb, central dividing section or other separation or dividing line on said highways.

(2) To make a left turn or a semicircular or U‑turn except through an opening provided for that purpose in the dividing curb, separation section, or line on said highways.

[blahblahblah...]

The amazing part about his BAC of .11 is that he wasn't even drinking, he got that just from sucking the diack of a drunk guy.

No sympathy for whiny spoiled kids.

"I just don't understand how with whatever money or entourages these guys have, why they get caught with a DUI? Why can't they have Turtle drive?"

That was what I was wondering myself. My daughter told me a good friend of hers from UNC was at a bar with JJ a few months back. She was with some friends, as was he. He hit on her, then told her she should come to some Duke parties sometimes. Sure she says, and agrees to give him her number. He motions for a 'turtle' to come over and take the number. She demurs, saying if he can't take her number himself, forget it.

/Having said all that, I must also say well played to submitter.
//Glad the Durham strippers and Duke lacrosse team are 'ahem' laying low...
///Raleigh gets on the National map tonite. Beating some team from some town named 'Edmonton' in some place called 'Alberta'. Oh yeah, in some game called 'hockey'. That'll take some of the heat from JJ.

2006-06-13 04:15:47 PM
Too bad he didn't wrap himself around a tree and Babbie Gurly himself right out of a NBA career.

/Duke sucks
//UNLV threw the game, so the sportsbooks could take action on the championship game.

2006-06-13 04:15:58 PM
Strike my earlier question. Cops say on that ticket that he made an illegal U-turn. Seems to beg question of how do you turn away from a cop checkpoint?
