ZoeNekros: Wow, pshaw, your XMMS window is freakin big. I didn't even know you could make it bigger.

It's been a standard feature of Winamp, of which XMMS is a feature-for-feature remake.

pshaw

It started up innocently enough. I named my systems after Trek ships to keep up, and wallpapered to match. I used to have random stuff mixed in, but I made a decision to make a theme and stuck with it, I even created a custom login screen background using someone elses work. I can't credit them, I don't know who did it. Same story with the Konqueror Background, I made it wrap and did the colors, someone elses source pic. I decided to break tradition a bit lately. I named my parents BSD system (yes, really) Galactica. I named my grandparents XP system "EscapePod", it sorta fit.

That's a great shot, I used it on the bouncing earth screen saver that comes with X-Screensaver, it fits perfectly and looks better than the default generic daytime image.

Otto's_Jacket: Dumb question from a drunk farker: how do you take a snapshot of your desktop?

...if you don't have the gimp, and assuming you are running windows, press your printscreen key, then go into any image manipulation program and paste it in.

I still suggest getting the gimp, though... not to take screen shots, but just because it is a great program ;)

Open up the Gimp, choose "Aquire > Screenshot" select options from there.

Or you can hit the "prt scr/sysrq" button then open your image editing program of choice and ctrl-p paste it into an image. In Ph'shop, if you make a new image it will size it to match whatever is in your clipboard.

2006-06-04 03:22:30 AM
I just press the 'Prt Scr' button

Open MsPaint, edit->paste->save as jpeg

That's a beautiful skin for Windoz....what software have you used, pray tell? Doesn't look like Vista, so I'm guessing it's some kinda skin for XP?
