While Seahawk fans certainly still feel ripped, off, I'd wager fans of 30 other teams feel pretty ripped off by not having a decent Super Bowl where the officiating was transparent.

And even _I_ will tell you right up: the refs screwed them, the Super Bowl was legitimately theirs to win. The media and the league wanted the Storybook Steelers to have their scripted ending so they made sure the refs made just the right calls at just the right times to tip the balance of the game.

Been reading Fark for years, and have never seen anything original. It's like the weekly dues of the bleeding heart club is to post at least one "I hate Dubya" post - just to remind everyone that they hate Bush.

I take it you don't get to watch alot of football down there then. The refs didn't screw them. The Steelers played bad, but the Seahawks just didn't play well enough to win. There wasn't an abnormal amount of flags thrown, but the hawks' were one of the lowest penalized teams last season. Ever consider they could have an 'off' game. As for the media darling Steelers, the Seahawks were a beige team. They didn't have any 'characters', nothing really made them stand out. You can't tell me the media wouldn't have been all over 'First Championship for the city in any sport' story. The Seahawks definately have a decent team, but when you have the 28th easiest schedule (for the 06' season actually), they are a tad overrated.
