At 9:45 AM, too. That's one hardcore drunk.

2006-06-02 12:16:46 PM
Yer honor *hic* Ish like to plead for the fifth.

2006-06-02 02:03:40 PM
don't think that's going to score him any points (except maybe against his license)...

2006-06-02 02:03:44 PM
Worse still, that man was the judge!

/thanks a lot folks! Be sure to tip your waitresses!

2006-06-02 02:04:44 PM
I saw the same thing happen at a courthouse in VA at 10 am. The judge sent the guy home and told him he'd be thrown in jail if he was drunk again the next time.

Personally, I would have thrown him in jail right then.

2006-06-02 02:04:46 PM
I drink the fifth.

2006-06-02 02:04:48 PM
Wow, this is newsworthy.

2006-06-02 02:04:53 PM
I'd have a few before my hearing, since I've already lost faith in the justice system.

2006-06-02 02:05:31 PM
A shot in the dark here, but perhaps he has a drinking problem.

2006-06-02 02:05:39 PM
Poor guy, he really has a problem.

Capt. Obvious says he needs help!!!...

What happened on The Man Show now?

Shucks, in my neck of tha 'hood, there were people from the subsidized apartments drinking beer at 7:30AM and smiling like fools as I'd get into my car to drive to work.

9:45AM? Late bloomer, this one.

Still, there needs to be a blinking, neon pink "Tower-Climbing Retard" tag for this guy. Sheesh.

2006-06-02 02:06:20 PM
Kassab did not even receive a lunch..

Dumbass or not, I'm pretty sure that isn't allowed. If you detain someone, I'm pretty certain you need to give them something for lunch.

/even if it is a bologna sandwich and Icy Tea
//not like I have ever had that
///twice
////five minutes for slashing

I had an electronic pocket breathalyzer one time and used to periodically see how high I could make it go. It was nothing to go over .25 or .30 if I was getting real tight.

Anyway one morning I woke up for work and saw it laying on the counter so i blew in it and lo and behold, I blew a .22 at 7:30 in the morning, on my way to work?

I thought it was broken at first so I tried it a bunch more times and about 50 percent of the time I was over .08 (legal limit) when I was going to work.

I never have gotten a DWI but I can see how this could happen.

2006-06-02 02:09:41 PM
Yeah, but did he drive to his hearing?

2006-06-02 02:10:27 PM
A distant acquaintance of mine was arrested on a DUI and obviously had to appear in court. Apparently, when they called out his name and the crime accused, the entire room made its best attempt to stifle laughter:

"Bruschi [BREW-skee], accused of Driving Under the Influence?"

2006-06-02 02:10:35 PM
As Kassab repeatedly apologized, Lunsford told him that until his sentencing, he is not allowed to drink any alcohol, to be inside any establishment that serves or sells alcoholic beverages, or to even be near someone who is drinking alcohol.

Why don't they just kill him?

2006-06-02 02:11:04 PM
at least he showed up...

2006-06-02 02:11:52 PM
"Bruschi [BREW-skee], accused of Driving Under the Influence?"

Let me start it...

"I P Freely, accused of public urination"

2006-06-02 02:12:12 PM
What's wrong with having a few beers in the courtroom? It's not like there is anything else to do other than listen to the lawyers and judge prattle on.

2006-06-02 02:12:27 PM
But is it illegal to do that?

It sounds like this guy was going to get the book thrown at him anyway.

2006-06-02 02:13:24 PM
"Yuv bin farteen, accused of disturbing the peace."

2006-06-02 02:14:29 PM
The_Raconteur: But is it illegal to do that?

I think the Judge did not believe the guy was competent to enter a plea, so they threw him in the tank until he was.

how can he possibly do that? He can't go to a supermarket OR a restaurant to get food. Is it really possible be nowhere near alcohol for more than a day?
