seahawks #1 over the steelers? i got your power rankings right here
*points*

2006-06-01 12:19:52 PM
Wow, that list is total bullshiat.

HAIL

2006-06-01 12:23:31 PM
*yawn*

Texans were 23rd last year.
Look how well that turned out.

2006-06-01 12:25:27 PM
They lost me at rank 1.

nice new logo, browns fans.

On the Saints, at #30:

At least one of the FO staffers believes that if Drew Brees is healthy, the Saints can ride his arm, Reggie Bush's legs, and a couple games of emotional home-field advantage to a 7-9 record. The rest of us humbly disagree.

Die in a fire, pal. Even with the absolute suckage of last season (not to mention not ONE game in the home stadium, and one "home" game at the opponent's stadium - BTW, WTF, Tagliabue?), we were still better than the freaking Texans, who last I checked, did not exactly revamp that pitiful offensive line in the offseason.

albo: seahawks #1 over the steelers? i got your power rankings right here

Obviously the Steelers' "dominating" performance in the Super Bowl wasn't enough to convince everyone.

2006-06-01 12:50:18 PM
As sucktastic as the 49ers were last year and as sucktastic as they will undoubtedly be this year, I have serious doubts that they will be sucktastic enough to be dead last among all NFL teams.

I could be wrong about this, of course. The Niners can't do anything right. Hell, they can't even lose right--they had to go and win their last two games, to lose out on the Reggie Bush sweepstakes.

Hell, they can't even lose right--they had to go and win their last two games, to lose out on the Reggie Bush sweepstakes.

Even funnier when you consider that it turned out the "winner" actually finished in second in that race.

Reg-gie, Reg-gie, Reg-gie!

Just practicing for the home opener.

Nabb1: Texans, who last I checked, did not exactly revamp that pitiful offensive line in the offseason.

But they did get a heck of a defensive end.

morans.

Unfortunately for Cowboys fans, Terrell Owens does not play offensive line.

Looks like another year of smashed up Cowboy QBs. Dammit.

Dolphins are due for a super bowl win. Undefeated this year, i say YES!
We'll start out the first game by whooping the Steelers patooteys.

suck it pats... suck it long.... hold it... now suck it hard! We took your undefeated season, from last place, and rammed it RIGHT up your ass!

2006-06-01 02:06:42 PM
Mike_Bolton: Dolphins are due for a super bowl win.

No team in Super Bowl history has ever played the game on their home field. Could the 'Phins break that streak?

2006-06-01 02:31:35 PM
battl_web17: Wow, that list is total bullshiat.

Well, it IS from Fox.

But seriously, the Vikings at 20, even with a new offensive line, and a coach with an IQ above room temperature?

2006-06-01 02:33:37 PM
Also, it's time for a little creative editing.

Are there enough balls to go around for both Steve Smith and Keyshawn Johnson? Forget during games -- I'm just talking about ... in the locker room after practice.

Yes! Oh man that would be the greatest.

So who will they be playing? hopefully the niners LOL.

2006-06-01 02:40:31 PM
Chargers at 8?

In the last decade, only 5 of the 14 teams debuting a non-rookie quarterback dropped by two or more wins compared to the previous season.

That sounds like a pretty feeble stat to base a high rating on.

2006-06-01 03:08:25 PM
for the first time ever, i agree with albo.

Actually, their 2 3rd round picks were OL guys. Maybe it was their late 2nd round, and early 3rd, or 3rd and 4th. Dunno, but I'm sure they drafted 2 OL guys.

Also, the Texans didn't lose many games because they couldn't score. They lost their games because they couldn't stop the other teams from scoring.

2006-06-01 03:21:34 PM
It should be an interesting season. I live for football season.

2006-06-01 03:38:31 PM
Falcons @ 18 ? With a much improved + Healthy defense, REAL receiving threats and a QB in his 3rd year of the west coast offense?

That REALLY would have pissed me off, until I saw the Seahawks @ #1.

Anyone remember Atlanta vs Seattle last year? Right before our defense & QB got banged up. gave them a serious run for their money.

2006-06-01 03:41:18 PM
That list blows - Buffalo wasn't ven on the list. Well, I only read down to number 5 - I mean if they're not in the top few I can only assume they were lest off entirely. I can see not one or two maybe, but .. well, let me check a little further ... what the duece? Well, what do you know ...

/go Bills!
// yes - I know they suck.
/// suck like a FOX!

2006-06-01 03:43:10 PM
the only team they got right was the 49ers at 32

2006-06-01 03:43:50 PM
Sean Taylor plea bargained out of felony charges today.

Nuttin standing in the Skins' way now!

GO SKINS!

this team is facing "Doug Johnson II: Electric Bougaloo."

This guy reads fark.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: FARK No!

No team in Super Bowl history has ever played the game on their home field.

Do the Rams at the Rose Bowl vs. the Steelers or the Niners vs. Miami at Palo Alto count? Yes, I know it's not actually their home fields...but close enough?

/Not an NFL geek. Really.
//No, really.

Wadded Beef

I was thinking the same thing... I'm guessing the rams didn't think it counted too much, seeing as how they lost the game (gave it a good shot though).

2006-06-01 04:10:36 PM
8 is low for the Chargers. Their schedule is a joke this year and Rivers is ready.

Good call. I remember that game and it was actually really good. The uber-underdog, 9-7 Rams with their backup QB Vince Ferragamo (who?) taking on the Steelers who won it all the year before. The game was in doubt well into the fourth quarter.

/Okay, I'm a bit of an NFL geek.

yup, rams actually had some great teams in the mid to late 70s before becoming the niners' punching bags in the 80s.

"... so these rankings are entirely subjective. Each of the Football Outsiders writers ranked all 32 teams based on how they finished 2005 and the off-season moves they've made in 2006, and the rankings below represent the average of our opinions."

And you have the iggles ranked as the best team in the NFC East? If that is the criteria they were supposed to use, the Football Outsiders writers are clear evidence that one should not smoke crack prior to ranking football teams.

2006-06-01 04:44:48 PM
Seahawks #1 Looks right to me. Same team but they added Koren and seriously beefed their defense. Hutchinson will be missed until Alexander learns to run right.

Pats #5 Sorry...this bandwagon has tunred into a bandship and its sinking.

Eagle #9 This alone makes the ENTIRE list worthless. The Eagles are not even the third best in their division.

Saints #30 Who knows. I would never bet on the Saints to win anything, no matter who they pick up.

Niners #32 No chance. They suck too much to even get a #1 pick next year. No way they end up 32nd. 31st maybe...

I'm guessing you're one of those guys that says this every year. Don't worry, chumley. You'll be right one of these days.

Never in history has a team been so underestimated because they lost a 30-something year-old kicker.

2006-06-01 04:56:07 PM
That 30 year old kicker should have been your MVP more often then your QB. And I did say that last year. Shoot me. Yeah they made the playoffs, but beating the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills to get there is not exactly awe-inspiring.

I hate the Pats because they are boring to watch...nothing against them personally.

Kornchex: 8 is low for the Chargers. Their schedule is a joke this year and Rivers is ready.

Do they still have marty shiat-for-brains as their coach? Yep. Be prepared for suckage, my friend. I don't like it, and I don't want to see it happen, but it will.

2006-06-01 05:07:11 PM
Bah. The mighty Detroit Loins(no, that's not a misspelling) are poised for a breakthrough year under the leadership of new head coach...ummm...errr...what the hell's his name again?

2006-06-01 05:08:19 PM
Funniest line in the whole article:

Chicago Bears: The entire defense returns, and they now have two quarterbacks who are not Kyle Orton.

Hahahaha. Priceless.

Honestly, does it really matter anymore? Is Matt Millen still there? ::sigh::

Eagles at #9 makes jebus cry

2006-06-01 05:16:52 PM
You know, I was going to make some comment about the Lions, but I don't really feel like crying right now.

/at least I still have the Wolverines
//hopefully not the ones from last year
///my Wings are out, the Pistons will follow soon
////my only hopes are the teams I've adopted
/////Go Sabres!

REAL recieving threats? It hardly matters when your QB's first instinct is to tuck and run. And Atlanta still can't stop the run.

/Panties fan

Panthers Fan? You should put a timestamp on that claim like
"Panthers fan - Since they went to the superbowl- yea! Jake Delhomme is a much better quarterback than Mike Vick!"

People in North Carolina know NOTHING about football. NOTHING. I tried going to a panties/Falcons game in Charlotte - your poor redneck QB couldn't communicate with his team because the crowd was yelling non-stop while the offense was on the field.

Oh and the Vick "tuck and run" insult is getting old. We have probably one of the worst *pass blocking* o-lines in the league. *run blocking? we have one of the best.

But since your a panties fans you probably don't know the difference.

/and your from NY which makes me hate you even more - Go root for the Jets loser.

2006-06-01 05:45:04 PM
Haha, wow. Must've touched a nerve. Been a fan for about 10 years or so, give or take, definately through that miserable 1-15 season. But i won't bore you with that i know nothing about football. However, what i DO know is that our poor redneck QB is able to throw the ball. As opposed to your "human highlight reel" who consistently farks up big games and then throws his teammates under the bus. I'll stick with my podunk team in my podunk town over an over-rated, head inflated, running back wearing a QB's number like michael vick. But hey, at least people are coming to your games now.

Oh, snapeth.

Last year didn't they have the Pats, Eagles, and Colts in the top 3?

My poor Niners, unfortunately they are right about that one *sniff*
