So, what'd they do, take that Sixpence None the Richer song and set the words against Japan's anthem?

Not a worthy thread without underage animated schoolgirls being assaulted by tentacles.

/Mmmm.... Tentacles.

Agree with Hyaku-Shiki-sama, though pics of Japanese Schoolgirls over the age of 18 will result in considerably fewer visits to PMITA prison, where there are no Japanese Schoolgirls.

/Too early in the morning for tentacle pr0n.

I imagine this is like that parody of "The Star Spangled Banner" that was done in Spanish.

It's not so much a parody as it is just random English words strung together so that the vowel sounds match the real Japanese words.

Kimi gaa yo- wa = "Kiss me, girl, and your old one"

and so forth.

kiss me girl and your old one
a tip you need it is years 'til you're near this
sound (of) the dead will she know
she wants all to not really take

On SNAP! What scathing satire!

I'd much rather they use words like: sony, suzuki, honda, yamaha, mitzubiatchie, etc. You know, Japanese words Americans can understand.

I doubt you'll find any Japanese up in arms about this parody. They don't have the rabid protective urge over their anthem the way some Americans do about ours.

To politial conservatives in Japan, (they drive around in big black vans with loudspeakers and blare patriotic songs and hate speach.) Just throwing in a buch of foregin words is perhaps the MOST insulting way to make fun of the Kimigayo. They're whole party line is Xenophobia to the extreme.
