There were a few episodes of a somewhat violent nature, most of them comic and action related. Demos attacking the gang and other action violence are probably the most invasive of the issues of violence.

Nope, I have never seen 'demos' attack. It must be horrible...
Lern tu yous spall chick, ass.

You won't hear this again from me.

I agree with Fb- completely.

a single use of the three/four letter word vocabulary hidden behind a contemporary term

Huh? What the hell does this mean?

Sounds like they cut out the best scenes of the movie!

"sculpture nudity" -- isn't Michaelangelo's David a nude sculpture?

Mindwolf: Probably something like "i don't give a flying duck" by a guy who won't give his flying ducks. or something to that effect. You "know" the intended word, but they dont' acutally say it.

damn, a double -- wanted to add that Scooby Doo (Dooby?) started to really BITE when the bad guys ceased being dudes in bad costumes and became real monsters -- from a show that didn't take superstitious belief seriously to one that pandered to a pre-X Files generation!

"skull" theme -- what, God screwed up when he made skulls a part of the human anatomy?

demon possessions -- aren't these in the bible? i remember jesus driving these out of pigs or something.

Scrappy urinating on Daphne's chest -- sounds like you're reading a bit too much into that there, captain closetpervo.

animosity/jealousy -- you show me a movie without jealousy and i'll show you a blank reel.

facial piercings, punk dress, massive tattoos -- since when is god a fashion nazi?

great fall -- no mother mother grimm then.

I'm with RelaximusPrime</b<. I never watched Scooby after the introduction of that stupid little scrappy dickhead.

Veritas: "Satan and all his little wizards" Have you been watching Blackadder? that is the only place I have heard that phrase (second series, last episode: when the inquesitionor is trying to get Edmund and Lord Melchett to confess). It was just such a unique expression I fell in love with it.

The true abomination is the casting. Kevin farking Smith cast his Scooby crew better in J&SB than this pile of festering Doo. I'm not kidding; I'd much rather see Kevin Smith's Scooby crew in a movie than this bomb waiting to happen - even if the SD movie's Shaggy has a voice closer to the original.

Marc Blucas > Freddie Farking Prinze Jr.

Hey, was Riley ever considered an "official" member of the Scooby Gang? I don't think so, but either way, that makes two Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumni - a show featuring a "Scooby Gang" in reference to the Scooby Doo cartoon - cast as Scooby Doo characters. Stupid trivia, but there you have it.

Gavgoyle:
Yes, you caught me. I ripped off Rowan Atkinson. :-P

As you say, it's just such a unique expression. I can't help myself sometimes.

I also like "fornicating baboon."

I didn't want to see this movie until I found out that CAP hated it.

2002-06-14 10:34:20 AM
CAP: Unfortunately, Scooby-Doo just didn't entertain us.

BEAVIS: He just said "anus". Hehehehehehehe...

I'm taking my 4 1/2 year-old son to see this movie this weekend. He's been looking forward to it for months. I will have to endure it, but seeing some of SMG's cleavage and a hot Velma will hopefully make it worth the dough.

I ain't poppin' $15 for no movie theater Scooby snax, tho...

"hot Velma"
That's lust for a lesbian--a double damn on the CAP Report.

This is the same organization that thinks "Pay It Forward" doesn't promote Christian values.

My review of CAP's review of Pay It Forward is in theArchives of my Website somewhere.

What do you expect? Their reviews of the Star Trek movies make them sound like pornos.

2002-06-14 10:59:43 AM
Hey, no harm no foul! You weren't rippin' off Rowan...it was an homage. All four are truley great series. It is stunning how many times a day you can work the phrases "bugger me with a fish-fork" and "Poo to you with knobs on!" into the stream of normal conversation. And I sing the "See the little goblin" song to my baby daughter every day.

Olsen Twins are now 16!

So when is the Fark Olsen Gang Bang Bukkake fest?

2002-06-14 11:03:30 AM
They should have cast these two as Daphne and Velma...
[image from beatboxbetty.com too old to be available]
And then let Velma seduce Dapne.

Scrappy Doo, or my ex-wife??! You decide.

With all due respect to the CAP guy, he seems to be really reaching here. "Sculpture nudity" as Sex/Homosexuality? "Skull theme" as Offense to God. Gosh, it almost seems as though he's making it up as he goes.

P.S. Do you think he's ever noticed that 90% of his traffic comes from FARK?

Range of Possible Scores: zero to 100. The higher the score, the more acceptable the program. Mary Popins earned 100, American Psycho earned zero.

Range of Known Values: zero (Mary Poppins) to 10.65 (South Park: BLU). The higher the CAP ID, the higher the potential for destructive influence.
(From CAP's main page).
Huh? How the fark did that little witch get the perfect 100? I thought all that flying, and pulling things out of magic bags would be pure demon possession. Give me American Psycho over that demon-possesed nanny from hell any day :o)

2002-06-14 11:31:43 AM
The really scary thing is.....there are actually a LOT of people out there that think like this & would/do take CAP's word for absolute mandate. Now THAT sucks.

2002-06-14 11:31:50 AM
This CAP and Jack Chick and others give well meaning, open minded Christians like myself a bad name.

2002-06-14 11:43:02 AM
Folks that write stuff like that are closet perverts.

2002-06-14 11:43:37 AM
At ten I had a stack of Playboys and a large vocabulary of bad things to say in front of Grandma. I still turned out OK. It's the kids whose parents read that CrAP that turn out all screwed up in the head.

Anyways, don't we need to show kids what's in the REAL WORLD in movies so they can know what to expect (Scooby isn't the best example, think Sum of All Fears, Pulp Fiction...). Their kids will be in a world of hurt if they ever hit a big city.

2002-06-14 11:48:15 AM
Scooby Doo is doo.
So what else is new? (*yawn*)

2002-06-14 11:57:21 AM
Why couldnt they just make a nice Rated-G kids flick instead of some stupid PG13 crap that has idiodic references to sex and crap. Another classic ruined.

Impudence/Hate (I)(1):
facial piercings

I guess he would freak out at the mall around my house.

The best part of that whole damn kjv-nazi site is the AD SECTION down at the bottom. what a peek into a world of sickness!

2002-06-14 12:05:43 PM
I read somewhere that the filmmakers cut a lesbian kissing scene between Daphne and Velma... that would have made CAP man spooge in his fundamental pants. He would then write something negative about it. Damn non-Christian Hollywood. grrr.

Did anyone else think of Dana Carvey's 'Church Lady' from 'Church Chat' here:

Speaking of monsters there are a few, looking more like gargoyles than monsters. One for each of the victims of demonic possession. The quintessential lord of nogoodnicking was out to soak up the inner ectoplasmic spirit - the soul - of every one who came to the island so he and his demons could have power to rule the world. Whom (or what) else do you know of has demons as servants and is after all souls on the earth?

hmmmm... who could it be... let me see... could it be....

SATAN??? ---ATAN?? ---ATAN???

/Church Lady

2002-06-14 12:19:20 PM
ArmchairDissident, I was thinking the same thing. Why is flying, etc. OK in Mary Poppins, but when Harry Potter does it, he's the spawn of Satan? Chewbacca does not make sense. At least double standards are entertaining.

2002-06-14 12:25:41 PM
That wacko website is a lot of fun.

I especially like the "offensive to God" category. That guy wouldnt know God if he smacked him right between the eyes.

"a single use of the three/four letter word vocabulary hidden behind a contemporary term "

Huh?

2002-06-14 12:36:10 PM
Is it my imagination or has this guy's reviews mellowed over the years. Check out some of the older reviews. Back in the day he would have gotten all hot and bothered that Scooby was a blasphemy against Gawd. Talking dogs are a sin... yadda yadda yadda.

CAP makes me happy. :)

2002-06-14 12:46:45 PM
Wow, they seem to have totally forgotten to factor in the "scooby snacks" for the drug category. Ever notice how Scooby and Shaggy have the munchies???

2002-06-14 12:52:39 PM
Oh come on the entire cartoon is one big drug reference...remeber the smoke that always comes out of the van?

THe CAP guy is just to ignorant to read between the lines...and just what in the name of all things FARK is "Suggested Drunkeness"???

2002-06-14 12:57:49 PM
Suggested Drunkenness=Signs that they might being having fun?

Yeah I agree it's...fraught...with them...ooo...big wurd...

2002-06-14 12:58:44 PM
Any girls from Maine in hya?

2002-06-14 12:59:38 PM
Totally agree, Funky_Thrasher... the Scoob cartoon IS a drug fest. I believe that Shaggy was the world's first slacker/stoner. Just as pointed out before, munchies all the time, the same green shirt and red/brown (?) pants, the goatee, shaggy hair-cut, his best friend is a talking dog...

Don't forget they drove around in a VW bus with psychedelic colours like Ken Kesey and Merry Pranksters. Plus the cartoon was made around 1968 or 1969.

2002-06-14 01:00:43 PM
I forgot, Shaggy also had constant paranoia, scared of everything.... along with the talking dog.
