Why? Isn't the war almost over?

He's not very scary. Looks more like a 6-foot turkey.

I have no idea what wyckedsmile and secretagentwang are talking about. With that said, I think the Raptors will probably trade down. And also, as a Raptors fan, let me say that I'm deeply depressed that Joakim Noah stayed at Florida.

Noah ain't shiat compared to Lamarcus Aldrige. I hope he goes to the Bulls.

i understood the Boobies in this thread but not the second...

i feel for the team that picks Adam Morrison thinking he can hang in the NBA.

Raptors don't need Aldridge; they'll trade their pick...

For those that don't know... Aldrige used to school Bosh repeatedly in high school.

The Raptors will draft that 6-11 forward from Italy who can hit the outside shots and post-up. There is a large Italian community in Toronto and southern Ontario, so it is a marketing no-brainer. He is just as good as any of the underclassmen mentioned -- if not better.

Imagine Andrea Bhagriani, Bosh and Charlie V in the same frontcourt. And they may use their cap room to resign PG Mike James to boot.

ModestA-Hole: For those that don't know... Aldrige used to school Bosh repeatedly in high school.

IN HIGH SCHOOL.
/thinks Aldrige is highly ordinary.

So schoolin' Chris Bosh, an older NBA-bound player in high school is ordinary to you? highly ordinary at that? haha. you are funny.

wait. you go to Rice. that figures. you wouldn't know a great athlete if one punched you in the nuts.

upon further review, you now go to Tech, which means you'd like to think you know a thing or two about sports, but alas you don't.

its not really a strong draft. i don't think there's a bonafide #1 pick. teams will want the first pick when oden is eligible for the draft.

2006-05-24 03:21:46 PM
If his nickname is anything like "Big Country" maybe they should just trade the pick

2006-05-24 04:17:14 PM
I think it's almost certain they'll trade the #1 pick. They probably won't trade down too far, but it's highly unlikely they'll make the first pick.

Not buying into this it's not a strong draft nonsense. I agree it's probably not as good as the Jordan-Hakeem etc year, or the Stellar LeBron Carmello, Wade, Kirk, Bosh bonanza, but I think it no worse than the Brand-Francis year. Or the Yao, Jay williams year. I think Aldridge will be a solid power forward. Not sure he will ever be a center. I am willing to be Tyrus turns out somewhat like Amare. Morrison seems to me more like a Reggie Miller than a Larry Bird. I think Sheldon from Duke has a lot of similiarities to Brand, but a better defender. Roy will be special, Carney can be a darn good player. Bargnani and Splitter can be wild cards. If Bargnani is anywhere near Dirk's level he would really be nice alongside Bosh and Charlie. I think it's more likely he is a slightly better Vlad Radmonovic. I think Gray can easily play at Joel P's level, and he is about to become a very rich man.

Anything's better than Rafael Arujo, right?

Why did the lottery look like some low budget game show?

In fact, why televise the lottery at all?

To all the Raptors fans...

No.

You cannot have Joakim Noah.

/Not Yours.
//Ours.
///Florida's going from 0 Basketball titles, to 2 in a row.

Noah sucks. UF got lucky this year. Weakest Final Four ever.

Ripped from a hoops-related web site:

From the information that DraftExpress has gathered from sources close to the Raptors organization, the #1 spot in the draft indeed appears to be Andrea Bargnani's to lose. Colangelo is infatuated with his phenomenal skill-set and is determined to lay the groundwork and make sure that this pick is not deemed a huge surprise like Charlie Villanueva was last year.

The Raptors see Bargnani, like Charlie Villanueva, being able to play the 3, 4 and 5 spots in the NBA, with Chris Bosh manning the 4/5.

The only question now is whether the Raptors will draft him at #1, or will attempt to trade down a few spots (possibly to Portland for the #4 pick in a package with Chris Bosh's good friend and ex-teammate Jarrett Jack) to pick up a valuable asset along the way.
