Missing from the discussion was the perspective of a Democrat, a progressive, a woman, or a Latino

STFU - who gives a rats ass...these guys aren;'t allowed to have a discussion unless there's a woman or a Latino there?

Gimme a phuccing break...

I guess white guys aren't allowed to have opinions about immigration.

Lou Dobbs discusses immigration policy with five white men U.S. citizens.

I know this was a long time ago and you might not remember it, but there were only white guys here before anybody from any other land arrived.

Why do libs insist on making this a racial issue? Technically, hispanics aren't in a separate race from whites, anyway.

The problem is that if we don't have borders, we don't have a country.

Beatle Matt if there is no one in the discussion with an opposing opinion then it's not a discussion it's just a verbal circle jerk.

2006-05-17 12:55:34 PM
I have an opinion on this, but since I am a white man, my opinion is to be disregarded.

(But, all of us white men in America are descended from immigrants, so there.)

NuttierThanEver
it's not a discussion it's just a verbal circle jerk.

I think many people prefer that to actual honest debate. Less thinking, and they tell you that you're right to be an ass.

mrnoodle: Why do libs insist on making this a racial issue?

If you want to talk about the wacky libs that call racist at every turn, in the next breath don't forget to mention the wacky conservatives that are actually racist at every turn.

A discussion of a subject by five poeple with near-identical viewpoints is as useless as O RLY post in a Fark flame-war.

Lou Dobbs is so white he's transparent. Plus he's old.

Lou Dobbs discusses immigration policy with five white men GOP Shills.

Fixed it for ya

Right, leathermidget. But if you would have read the transcripts or watched the video, you would have seen the shills criticizing the President for much of what he said.

Good job pulling useless stupid information out of your ass, though.

I find it amusing that Lou Dobbs and his obsession with border security and outsourcing of jobs was an inspiration for Stephen Colbert's character to obsess about bears.

2006-05-17 03:05:04 PM
Awww, you cwitisized me....

Yeah, because Bush is actually trying to (for some reason) thread a middle road on this and the rest of the GOP and their shills are being critical of Bush.

You need to learn to discriminate between critisizm of Bush-as-President and the GOP as a party.

But, of course, I was critisizing CNN as a news-outlet. I supposethough, that you are one of those people who thinks CNN is some "Bastion Of Liberals" eh?

You need to learn to discriminate between critisizm of Bush-as-President and the GOP as a party.

I most definitely have that ability. Do you? If so, then I apologize in advance. Out of curiosity, which side of the coin do you land on? GOP shill or Bush-lover?

btw, CNN sucks as much as FOX :P

Media Matters is a bigoted website, not a big surprise.

I'm disappointed that John Gibson wasn't on the panel, calling on white women to give spawn in order to save the USA from the demographic cataclysm to come.

Procreation Not Recreation
Thursday, May 11, 2006
By John Gibson

Make more babies. That's the lesson drawn out of two interesting stories over the last couple days.

First, a story Wednesday that half the kids under 5 years old in this country are minorities. By far, the greatest number are Hispanic.

Know what that means? Twenty-five years and the majority population is Hispanic.

[...]

To put it bluntly: We need more babies. Forget that zero population growth stuff of my poor, misled generation.

Why is this important? Because civilizations need populations to survive.

So far we're doing our part here in America, but Hispanics can't carry the whole load.

The rest of you: Get busy. Make babies.

Or put another way, a slogan for our times: Procreation not recreation.

That's My Word.

I think the point is that if you're going to assemble a panel on Mexican immigration, YOU MIGHT WANT TO PUT A MEXICAN IMMIGRANT ON THE PANEL.

2006-05-17 06:53:00 PM
Why does the debate seem a bit racist?

Because I hear people frequently calling in to call-in shows, blaming Hispanics for the emerging mumps epidemic or complaining about the horrors of having to hear someone speak a language other than English.

And this is C-Span, not Limbaugh.

Prude_Hawkeye I find it amusing that Lou Dobbs and his obsession with border security and outsourcing of jobs was an inspiration for Stephen Colbert's character to obsess about bears.

Typical east coast elitist liberal. When will you people learn that bears are destroying this Nation!?

I saw this. Although I immediately noticed the lack of any Democrats, liberals, or progressives (I could care less about gender or race of panel), I was quite pleased to note that most of them hated the speech. It was like watching the Republican party implode in real time. I then flipped over to MSNBC and watched Pat Buchanan be outright racist live on the air.

5 white men? Clearly that video needed a hot chick in there.

I like Lou Dobbs. I think he's pretty clear and open about where he stands, but he is open to debate with people he disagrees with. As vigorous as he displays his opinion, he still allows others to speak, and encourages debate. At least he doesnt cut peoples mics like O'Rly.

Plus he has such a cute round head. Its just so round! And cute!
