Hate to admit it, but I think I have to agree with Bacon here...only because someone was stupid enough to photograph this event and put the pics on the internet.

Keep in mind I see NOTHING wrong with what the girls were doing, it looks like it's all in good fun and I've heard way, way, way worse frat hazing stories, none of which I had problem with either, you don't want to spend a week in a smelly basement eating nothing but ketchup, don't join a frat...but when you're a collegiate athletic program and you're advertising that this is what you do, you're just asking for it. Think of all the dads (and moms) of highly touted female high school school soccer players who sees their little girl will have to give lap dances to be part of the team. NU just went to the bottom of the list. It's bad for the school and these idiots should have known, what with the internet making people famous for walking across the country or hitting electrical wires with metal poles...its obvious that these girls are in trouble. Do I personally feel they should be punished? No, I don't see anything wrong with the actual "hazing" going on, like I said it looks to be a pretty fun time...but due to the fact that it made it's way into public domain, it's easy to see why they're in hot water.

This probably fits the textbook definition of hazing. But, based on the pictures I've seen, (obviously I wasn't there) this is not what people are worried about when they try to stop hazing. It just looked like harmless team bonding to me.

Some black greek frats brand their members arms with hot irons (usually a coat hanger I've been told.)and beat their members as part of initiation.

Numerous fraternities, sororities and other campus social organizations will force their members to drink until they are comatose, hospitalized or die of alcohol poisoning.

People have been blind-folded, stuck in a trunk, driven across national borders and dropped off without identification or money. (I know some of them)

A sorority in Texas was recently shut down because they were pimping out the pledges! That's right, the girls that were pledging the sorority were being sent on dates with random men and performing sex acts while the Sister in charge was taking cash payments.

Fraternities have forced members to do physical activity they weren't ready for and pledges have dropped dead.

The worst thing that has happened here is that the player's parents are probably writing furious letters to the administration because 'Cammy' showed up on the internet kissing another girl wearing nothing but a jog bra and grandma underwear. If it were my daughter on the team I would be irritated. However, it is really not that big a deal, and if it is the worst thing that that happens to any of these girls while they are in college, their parents should count their blessings.

The Northwestern administration is well within their rights to crack down on the team. The way you prevent more serious incidents from occuring is by punishing lesser offenses. I hope nobody is kicked out of the school or off of the team though, to me that would be harsh.

Doesn't seem that bad to me. Making people dress in their underwear and do dumb stuff and write on them is pretty low-level hazing. The lap dances for the losers might have been much, but it seems to me the only thing they're guilty of is stupidity for allowing the pics to get out.

Hey, I love the pics, but there's nothing wrong with bashing the hazing aspect. Soccer is a team sport, and your teammates can make you look bad. It's not like these girls had much choice unless they wanted to risk their spot on the team by pissing off the queen bee upperclass biatches. It kinda sucks that the first thing they had to do to "bond" with the team is become drunk-ass sorority sluts. (I say "kinda" because I enjoyed the hell out of the pictures.) Performing on-command lap dances for random guys you don't know should only be done by a chick who has decided, yes, I am that kind of girl who eats more spotted dick her freshman year than the Two Fat Ladies did in a lifetime. It shouldn't be done by a girl who would prefer to keep her dignity but is afraid of sabotaging her collegiate soccer career.

Eh, I say burn them alive...Kids like this never learn. I played soccer in middle and high school but I never got hazed, I went to a private school and the faculty kept a "watch eye" on us.
Frats, soriortys and sports like this in college have hazing, there are some frats during the pledge process you have to take 100 shots in a 2 hour span, some make and some dont. Yeah its mean but hey life isnt fair. Plus, I would never join a soriorty, I couldnt be someones biatch for a whole semester and I dont want to be involved in a sex-train fest.
