The Captain of the lacrosse team was arrested prior for an open container and noise violation and the charges were dropped pending the Captain staying out of trouble for 6 months. For a site that biatches about personal responsiblity, y'all are sure giving the Duke players a get out of jail free card for when they fark up.

My problem with this is that the charges were deferred and then reinstated (sp). Removing all the other stuff you should be able to count on the courts to stick to their word about how and if they are going to prosecute. It just seems like reaching because the big things may not stick.

wow. I am really lucky. I had that happened to me, except he let me go. I was young and dumb and had drank half a bottle of tequilla and drove my friends car with her in it to the store. beat a dui test(no breathilyzer) and drove away. he pulled me over because I forgot to turn on my headlights.
second time, I had been out all night playin' cards and drove home at six in the morn',fell asleep right around the corner from my home and wrecked into my neighbors cars. both cars were totalled. Cop made me go get my wife(ex), and she drove our banged up car home.
I didn't get a ticket either time.

lesson is have a wife, get the policeman between shifts and get pulled over on a blistering cold rainy night in november! ok..don't drink and drive.

Another thing, I know a few dancers..one of them being one of my best friends from High School. When she goes out to a bachelor party she always has at least one guy with her as a bodyguard. When you add hormones and alcohol into the mix alot of shyte can happen. dick_justice has a good point, it's just too bad that Common Sense seemed to go the way of cocaine after the 80's....out of style. These girls did not deserve to be raped, no one deserves to be taken advantage of like that. However you have to at some point realize where you farked up and see the precautions you could have taken to make the situation less stressful and tense.

As a criminal justice major that absolutely pisses me the fark off. Prosecutors are supposed to go after truth AND justice, not either or. Those things are about as accurate as the local meteorologist and are used more as a confession tool than anything.
