There may have been a little, uh, unhappiness in Seattle (self-censoring because I am afraid of Sinister Steve), but the Aggies are the real pussies in this story.

2006-05-08 08:09:14 PM
are the aggies still on the ground throwing tantrums over this?

2006-05-08 08:10:43 PM
This is just a strange one. All teams credit their fans for help in winning games. Except Pittsburgh of course, where the refs have that honor.

2006-05-08 08:17:57 PM
Make that three cockpunches for the submitter.

/Seahawks fan who doesn't really think the ref errors changed the outcome of the game

the refs still gave pittsburgh that game

/it wasn't the refs or the players that caused them to lose

Texas Aggies are clearly a bunch of idiots.

A picture of 'ol #7? Good god no. Hate to tell you this but Bennie so far hasnt knocked my socks off as a QB. Cant wait til we clean his clock in XLI.

No the only thing that gave me nightmares from the game was being told EVERY FRAKING 5 MINUTES THAT THE BUS WAS FROM DETRIOT from the annouce critters on FOX, the whole fraking day. (Ok that, and WTF holding call against Hasslebeck- brrr!)

As a witness to the Super Bowl with no preference for either Seahawks or Steelers, I'd honestly have to say that the Steelers not only won deservingly, but that they established the rythym of the game. All you Seahawks fans are just a bunch of wining coonts. You act like Gore/Lieberman voters. What are you going to do, take it to the supreme court you little biatches?

Lot of help the 12th man has been to the Aggies the past few seasons. Let's see if the Fran Man and his team can actually beat Baylor this year without overtime.

Go Sooners!

/The Aggies did give us one hell of a game in 2004, though.
//And yeah, we had overtime with Baylor last year

Trademarks on phrases is just pointless

To paraphrase that skank Paris Hilton, "That's hot!"

2006-05-08 08:42:04 PM
aerojad, I'm neither a Seahawks fan nor a Steelers fan, but only a true homer would claim that the refereeing in the Super Bowl was fair. Seattle outplayed you, and yet lost. There were bad calls (holding on Locklear), and non calls (illegal man downfield on Roeth's pass to Ward near the goal line).

2006-05-08 08:46:12 PM
Alexander is on the cover of Madden.

The Seahawks are done next year. No one breaks the curse.

seattle couldn't outplay a high school team with the way they performed that night.

2006-05-08 08:47:57 PM
Even with the questionable calls it was still Seattle's game to lose. Tough farking loss. Props to Pittsburgh for the win, but they're kidding themselves if they think they had the far superior team.

I thought something was fishy at XL when the Seahawks' big entrance music was "Bittersweet Symphony" for the record.

Steelers fans, you should be as proud of that Super Bowl win as you were the first time you banged your mom's vacuum cleaner.

seattle couldn't outplay a high school team with the way they performed that night.

Ah, but they did! :)

Steelers are just lucky Carson Palmer got hurt in the Cincy game. Man it sure looked like those Bengals were going to make a hack of a game of that, until the injury.

What wasn't fair, though, was Kimo catching flak for the hit that injured Palmer. Looked like a clean football play to me...

championships are often won by teams that were not the best. that's what you get when it's a "1 and done" type of playoffs.

In the CFL, the 12th man is usually a DB or a receiver.

I work for cock-punching.

So I am really getting a kick out of most of these replies.

Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about.

But trust me.... You don't.

I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you don't know what you are talking about.

This is how bad info on sore balls gets passed around.

If you dont know about the topic....Dont make yourself sound like you do.

Cause some Farkers believe anything they hear.

WHOOP!!

To: Texas A&M Students, Faculty and Staff

Subject: 12th Man Trademark Settlement

I'm pleased to inform you that, after months of negotiations, the university has reached an amicable agreement with the Seattle Seahawks resolving the controversy regarding the use of Texas A&M's 12th Man
trademark. Under the agreement, the university has granted the NFL team a license to use the 12th Man trademark in a seven-state area in the northwest that encompasses the current primary broadcast area of the Seahawks. As is the case of all licensees, the Seattle Seahawks will pay the university a licensing fee and will state publicly that Texas A&M owns the 12th Man trademark each time it is used.

It is hard for non-Aggies, and the media, to understand the depth of what the 12th Man reference and depiction - and the underlying tradition - means to Texas A&M and as a result, the university was criticized for vigorously opposing use of the trademark by the Seahawks. As you know, the 12th Man is more than a trademark, greater than football, and certainly more than changing the course of a football game. The 12th Man is a call to action for Aggies. It symbolizes loyalty and our unique Aggie Spirit. It creates friendships where none existed before, heals wounds that seemed to be beyond repair and creates a common language that Aggies speak all over the world.

We had no choice but to challenge the Seattle Seahawks, just as we must protect and defend in every way possible all of our trademarks - and none is more crucial than that of the 12th Man because of all it means to Aggies. We have not only protected the 12 Man trademark, but have strengthened it for the future to ensure that others cannot successfully challenge us.

Now, we are in a position to license our trademark as a means of broadening our coverage and unquestioned ownership of the mark in both professional and collegiate sports.

In the fall, you will see an unprecedented focus on our 12th Man trademark here at Texas A&M. Our goal is to maximize the recognition and connection to our school.

Gig Em'
