How come he didn't have a heart attack before he had time for the execution? Come to think of it, why do prisoners get a last meal at all?
And if your execution gets postponed, do you get another one? A "second" last meal?

They have doctors check the person before they take them to the morgue which is why you should study Buddism on death row - so if they do make a mistake, you'll be able to mimic death like a monk and then make an escape like James Bond.

Reminds me somehow of that Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode where the death row inmate strikes a deal with the jail's doctor that the doctor will sneak him out in the next coffin. All he had to do was wait for a bell, which signalled a dead inmate, and sneak into the open coffin with the body. When he got to the graveyard, the doctor would dig the guy up.

So, the convict sneaks into the coffin and it gets sealed up. Then he gets buried and after a looong time, lights a match. It was the doctor who died!

Anyhoo, I saw this episode when I was eight or something like that, and I've remembered it ever since. Anyone else? Anyone?
