From the minute Blackberry came into existence, I have been thoroughly confused as to what the draw to it could possibly be. If I'm somewhere that will allow me the attention to write email, I'll most certainly have my laptop. For quickie, on-the-go messages, Windows Mobile (Pocket PC) offers so much more, particularly now that the phone versions have started to mature a bit.

I've seen executives sitting in their chair, in their office, with a PC and/or laptop running, and typing email on their Blackberry... I don't get it... Surely, the novelty factor has to be overcome by the pain of thumb typing after a while.

My old boss actually spent an entire meeting playing "Breakout" on his. No one noticed or cared.

I've never really understood the appeal of a CrackBerry or any of the other PDA devices.

The blackberry is much more secure than the PPC, or at least it was prior to the very latest release of WinMob5.

Its also easier for an executive to thumb type than to learn graffiti or fumble with the stylus and type with the onscreen keyboard. Its also much easier to use the BB keyboard than using t9 or whatever the latest 12 button phone interface is.

BB's have also historically been easier to support.

That being said, I much prefer my iMate JasJar with the BB Connect than the actual BB that was issued to me by corp.
