In season 2, they make a huge deal about this computer program that some nerd wrote that can create fake recordings that are impossible to detect... after that, how can a recording of a conversation be absolute proof of anything in the 24-verse?

You can't, except for the fact that we KNOW it was a real conversation (since we've seen Logan, Henderson, and Graham talking about it).

Besides, you can't except continuity, it's TV!

My roommate's brother is in the navy and he told us that a short while back 24 did some filming involving a submarine at his naval base. I don't know how a submarine is going to be worked into the plot, but unless they were already filming stuff for next season, it means there's going to be a submarine showing up sometime in the next few hours. Maybe Jack will crash land the plane in the ocean and hitch a ride on a submarine to get back to shore. Or maybe they'll land in the ocean and get picked up by the coast gaurd and Logan will order a submarine to sink the ship Jack is on.

This was the most unrealistic episode evar. Jack knows how to hotwire the plane? The air marshall just willingly turns the plane over to a dude with his gun? A whole plane of people just sit there while a possible terrorist with a gun stands right next to the cockpit door? One guy rushes and then pusses out? No way no way no way. Never ever is that going to happen again over the skies of the US.

If the guy does not win the emmy for best actor, there is something seriously wrong. Nobody can compare to the job Iztin has done this year. He played a dumbass guy like president george w dumbass bush, and has turnued into a heck of a villain. Hands down he is the winner!

He didn't hotwire it. He pulled on the control cables.

What else could he do? He didn't have a gun anymore. His only other option was to run and hope that he didn't get shot and that Jack didn't put any bullets through the plane's fuselage.

Its nice to think that passengers on a plane will always stand up to highjackers from now on, but its not gonna happen. Most people, even if they think death is imminent, won't charge someone with a gun. Not to mention that this was a plane full of diplomats and their staff. Maybe if the passengers had had a long stretch of time by themselves to come up with a plan of attack, but in the initial moments after a highjacking starts, when everyone is still confused, scared, and surpised, I think the only spontaneous resistance you'd see would be one or two would-be-heroes making an unorganized charge, which is what we saw on the show.

Now, I'm not saying that 24 isn't unrealistic, but this episode was FAR from the most unrealistic episode out there. I'd say the season 1 "amnesia" episodes are probably the most farfetched out there, or maybe the episode with Marwan's "You go that way, I'll go this way" escape from last season.

It seems there's gonna be some more deletin' soon.

I was using 'hotwire' as a metaphor, but thanks for clarifying the completely obvious.

Bullet holes in airplanes are not cause for such concern - we went through all of that discussion back in 2001 with arming pilots and air marshalls. I should hope that a real air marshall in that situation would take the chance and attempt to disarm the lone suspected terrorist rather than take the extremely weak position of being locked in the cargo bay.

Where do you think diplomats come from? Some probably have military backgrounds. If someone thinks they may die anyway, they'll take the chance. Out of 50-100 people, several would go for it.

Anyway, this whole season has been pretty cracked but it's going downhill.

Has anyone else noticed the uncanny resemblance between Logan and a younger Nixon when he debated Kennedy?

Yeah, he was kinda being a total ass clown this ep. I haven't really been OK with the torture either, although I'm glad they show that sometimes it just doesn't work, or you get bad info,etc..


The whole recording thing is getting silly too. I wish they hadn't made that the focus. It could at least be something harder to fake like a video clip with official watermarking.

1.) Logan will indeed "get his." Millions of people would groan in unison and flip the channel to SuperNanny if he didn't.

2.) The first lady will OD pretty hard, but Novak will find and save her in time, sparking a romance that will bloom as soon as Logan's killed or arrested. Nothing says "hey, I think you're pretty hot" like clearing puke and pills out of someone's windpipe.

3.) Chloe's got about one more season left in her. She'll be gone as soon as they find out she uses her clearance to get herself some sweet, sweet necrophilia.

The plane was filled with mostly foreign diplomats, and very few Americans. Americans, and maybe Russians and Africans, are probably brave enough to rush him. Europeans, highly unlikely.
