Apparently only 14wpm. Somehow I don't believe that.

jonasborg: Apparently only 14wpm.

Same here.

Load of rubbish
2006-04-30 05:24:55 AM
Oooo. I got 15 wpm.

I don't know WHATS wrong with YOU folks.
2006-04-30 05:27:40 AM
typing one letter at a time is retarded. i think of words in units
2006-04-30 05:31:52 AM
Did somebody just challenge me to a...typing battle?
2006-04-30 05:34:23 AM
Got 14 wpm here too. I actually type somewhere around 40-60 wpm.
2006-04-30 05:34:33 AM
I got 24 wpm...

The reality is closer to 80 or more.

Typing one letter at a time is the problem. Asinine.
2006-04-30 05:35:53 AM
slightly under 30, and I was a bit late
2006-04-30 05:39:21 AM
Ooh! I just realized it's a test of reflexes, not typing skills. The typical human reflex response is about .20 of a second at best. Most people clock in at about .30

A housefly has a reflex of about .02 seconds. Which means when a housefly flys around it is actually seeing your flourescent bulbs going on and going off.

My monkey type at 120 WPM...

/behold the power of helper monkeys!
2006-04-30 05:40:12 AM
24, go dvorak, where it appears it helps even more than usual, 50 with real words though.

/while not sober no less
2006-04-30 05:57:36 AM
I managed to squeeze out 25, but it was stupid.

On a regular typing test I hit about 130 on a good day.
2006-04-30 06:21:17 AM
my penis can beat your penis up

/somehow seems appropriate here
2006-04-30 06:48:07 AM
I'll have you know matey I could type for england.
2006-04-30 01:24:16 PM
You will notice that it is the same combination of letters every time (at least it was for me..)

So, I just wrote them down on a piece of paper, and when it said go, I just looked at the paper. It said I am a 52.

/I rock...
//slash slash
2006-04-30 07:09:07 PM
Fastest I got was 31. Which is bullll. This doesn't measure how fast you type, just how fast you process and respond to a stimulus and press the correct keys.
2006-05-01 01:20:39 AM
A real typing test:

I got 88WPM (about my average for transcription)
2006-05-01 01:46:13 AM
PlumBob: I took the test on that link and got 76 wpm with this result:

Mistakes: exclusevly(exclusively), teh(the), ro(or), becauses(because), gfear(fear), crazty.(crazy.), furetehrore,(furthermore,), what(What), four0-by-two's,(four-by-two's,), wtowards(toward), ture(true), is(in)
2006-05-01 02:01:25 AM
With PlumBob's link i got 127 wpm, and most of the words I missed were due to punctation.
/who uses punctuation anyway?
2006-05-01 02:05:25 AM
plumbob thats more like it
2006-05-01 02:09:20 AM

i got 38 words per minute, which is fairly close to my own tests a bit slower but i usually test myself looking a a piece of paper so my keyboard is always at least in the corner of my eye.
2006-05-01 04:10:14 AM
heh, i just mashed the keyboard at random and got a 31 wpm, and just barely lost the "battle" by 1 letter.

typing from my thoughts to the screen is pretty durned farst, but when i go from paper to screen(err, why would i do that anyways?) i am only moderate in speed, never took an official speed test though.
2006-05-01 05:37:32 AM
it said i had 24. i normally cruise in the high 90's, and when i'm doing something like copying something from paper to computer, if i'm familiar with the source material, i pop into the 110+ range.
2006-05-01 06:07:24 AM
15wpm my ass.

This test is lame
2006-05-01 09:59:17 AM
i'm really sad to admit it but i scored a 78 wpm in this... because i memorized the letters
2006-05-01 10:04:38 AM
24 wpm. I don't believe it. I got 72 on the little Java thingy that PlumBob posted.

/Probably could do better if I wasn't so hungover.
2006-05-01 10:53:40 AM
Bogus; when you touch type, you think in terms
of words, not letters.

It's. Like. Typing. As. William. Shatner.
2006-05-01 12:32:12 PM
19 RLPM (random letters per minute)

So ya, that test is retarded, unless you want to know how fast you can type random gibberish. And dvorak owns you all.
2006-05-01 12:33:15 PM
Letters = strings of characters

my mind = absent
2006-05-01 01:21:03 PM
24 here. I have no idea how fast I can type in reality. Pretty quick though. Lots of backspacing to fix words though.
2006-05-02 12:22:21 AM
26 wpm?? Fark that. This test is lame.

Give a real test. I read way ahead of what I type. My real typing score is closer to 75 wpm.
2006-05-02 07:33:34 AM
24. I used to measure 60wpm/10000ksph back when I were a data-entry temp, and that was on the agency's testing software which I found less intuitive than most of the specialised progs that the clients used.
