OK, this is where you living in Ames, Iowa starts to show. Nothing inherently wrong with Ames OR Iowa, but frankly, you don't have much of a Hispanic population, I'm guessing -- and probably a very small illegal-immigrant population, if any.

I live in Atlanta, Georgia. We are a Southern city, and as such there are Hispanics all over the place here -- and TONS, TONS, TONS of illegal immigrants who have come up from Florida and Texas.

I can assure you that they aren't out there getting green cards and TINs; they're getting paid under the table from the contractors and subcontractors, because they work CHEAP in comparison to legals AND you don't have to fill out all the paperwork. Yes, this is highly illegal, and yes, it annoys me that the contractors do this, but that is a separate issue.

It's a song. This is an attempt by some one(s) to make some money. It is going to be sung at soccer games, which most Americans scoff at (if Fark is any metre stick). There is no law saying it must be sung in English. Most Americans don't even know the whole thing. The United States has no official language. On of it's major territories is spanish-speaking. One of it's states is nearly 50% hispanic, while two others are 1/3 hispanic.
