4, 8, 15, 16, 23, & 42 ?

I didn't think it was well written. Just a run-of-the-mill thriller. Plus, Umberto Eco covered the Illuminati much more competently in Foucault's Pendulum.

2006-04-26 04:18:19 PM
I am in complete agreement with mryoop789. I actually read Angels and Demons hoping it would be better. But no, just ended up with more vomit in my mouth.

2006-04-26 04:18:57 PM
Um, Admiral_John, what's a "firbeb?"

2006-04-26 04:19:45 PM
Funny - keep it up, y'all. I much prefer all the "encoding" everyone is doing to actually hearing about the article.

2006-04-26 04:19:58 PM
I didn't think it was super-well written, but I liked the story. Never read Foucault's Pendulum though.

I think this is an appalling idea and I wish William Shatner would have shot him instead of his therapist.

// disbar him
/// ya rly

2006-04-26 04:23:30 PM
The other reason I hate it is because people take it seriously and think there's some kind of crazy worldwide religious conspiracy.

...Or maybe that's just why I hate people.

Cowboy Spencer
Foucault's Pendulum was good, but very dense and sometimes hard to read, IIRC. That being said, it's been a few years, so it might be a little easier to slog through it now.

2006-04-26 04:24:27 PM
For what it's worth I thought The Da Vinci Code was a pretty boring read. At the time I was in Europe so it was kinda cool. My wife thought it was really good but I dunno... I read a lot of sci-fi. It seems to me that most sci-fi is more thought-provoking than The Da Vinci Code.

2006-04-26 04:26:03 PM
You got that right, Jument.

Awesome, submitter. The only thing that would've been better is if you'd bolded the code letters, like on the inside flap of the dust jacket for the hardback.

2006-04-26 04:26:20 PM
Well done Submitter.
Bravo

2006-04-26 04:26:21 PM
You are all lame, including the submitter.

I'm not good with codes.

Recycled headline gimmick. I've seen it several times spelling out "Duke sucks". I believe I saw it on TF regarding a subliminal message article a few weeks back.

2006-04-26 04:27:06 PM
headline reminds me of a damnable era of the interweb when the kiddies used words like WaReZ and handles like sYkoTiC and phReaKr.

2006-04-26 04:27:26 PM

I'd like to direct this remark to the judge, who thought he was being witty. Quoth Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive:

"I don't care."

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention, I thought Da Vinci Code was mediocre. It's kinda like those Left Behind books: The story's interesting enough to make you keep reading, but it's poorly written and totally based on bullshiat.

2006-04-26 04:29:51 PM
HA!!!! And people often mis-interprit this sort of thing as .... ( get this ) ..... " RANDOM Capatalization "

the_gospel_of_thomas: HA!!!! And people often mis-interprit this sort of thing as .... ( get this ) ..... " RANDOM Capatalization "

i did catch the 'suck it' (duh(, but it also reminded me of that stupid random capitalization era anyway

2006-04-26 04:31:35 PM
Any one else doing the quest on google?

I'm outraged!

/not really, I just thought someone ought to be outraged about this.

I feel that things of mass appeal always suck.

Brown's own Angels and Demons was a far better book, IMO.

If you liked Da Vinci Code, you should definitely read it.
