wanna bet the ret oof the body is in a gator's bely?

"The head was found off of Alligator Reef, a popular snorkel and dive spot about four miles east of Indian Key."

Plus...

"The head is now with the medical examiner, who will try to determine its identity and how it got separated from the body."

Correlation may not equal causation, but I've got a hunch.

TFA: part of the spine was still attached, and some teeth remained.

Actually, its pronounced "eye-la morada", so it doesn't sound like Islam at all. It only looks like it.

Islamorada?!?!

Isn't 'morada' similar to the word death in many a language?

Crazy.

mekkab is correct, its 'eye' like in island. And what a beautiful place it is, the water is as clear as in the bahamas.

Correlation may not equal causation, but I've got a hunch.

Alligator Reef is named for the wreck of the USS Alligator, not the toothy reptile.

A missing head in Islamorada, you say.

Didn't Ted Williams live in Islamorada?

Islamorada. I've been there. It's pretty but not exactly the safest place to be if a hurricane hits, as you can tell from this picture.

"The head is now with the medical examiner, who will try to determine its identity and how it got separated from the body."

Why did that send me into uncontrollable fits of laughter? I must be ill..

I was invited to an old friend's wedding there just this past weekend.

Perhaps I should check in on how things went!

Been there before...nothing to get too excited about.

Other than the fishing the best reason to go to islamorada is the infamous Holiday isle ,damn If I didn't used to drink so much I'd have some fantastic memories of that place.
I think.

I went kite surfing there once - got caught in the current and had to ditch before running into the bridge and high-voltage power lines -

Godamnlimey: the infamous Holiday isle

I could be wrong, but I think it's going to close.

2006-04-25 09:35:46 AM
FallenKnife/GDLimey:

Like so many Keys destinations, Holiday Isle will be torn down and redeveloped as a high end resort...Knight's Key campground at the foot of the 7 mile bridge is another spot destined to become a luxury condo/resort. Even the dump on Stock Island has sprouted condos.
