2006-04-24 11:27:20 AM
WHY oh WHY can't we just remove ppl like this from the gene pool??

2006-04-24 12:01:06 PM
to save everyone the hassle, why not put poisoned drugs in these display cases.

The druggie gets of joy of having pulled one over on the pigs and the gene pool gets a little chlorine.

Everyone wins!

They could have just pinned him to the ground and shot him in the face with a sub-machinegun. I here that's a very popular thing to do in a public place.

2006-04-24 01:21:32 PM
As a fan of creative punishments, I would lock him in a display case, then tour the country.

I always wanted to walk up to one of those when a cop was standing nearby and treat it like a baseball card collection: "Got it, got it, need it, got it..."

of course, I was in high school, and that actually seemed funny at the time.

Hanover's booth also had a display case with drug props inside, such as a bracelet of candy beads that police said drug users often dip in the club drug ecstasy.

Does anyone else find this quote suspiciously ignorant? I don't think I've EVER encoutered "liquid ecstasy", nor candy beads which were dipped into it.

Acid, on the other hand...

It's funny how most of the things they told us about drugs in grade school, especially marijuana turned out to be exaggerations, embellishments and outright lies.

Keep kids off drugs....so there's more for the older people.

The real question here is: if the teen actually got away with the display case, how many of his dumbass friends would buy drugs from it?

2006-04-24 01:34:00 PM
RottNDude

I would say it's more typically ignorant than suspiciously. Reminds me of an ex-gf's mom. She heard/read that drinking a lot of water was a sign of ecstacy use. For the next 6 months, it was not uncommon for accusations of drug use to be made if more than one bottle of water was observed to have been consumed.

We used to have a cop come to the high school where I taught with cases full of REAL drugs that were confiscated during raids. He had everything, and I mean everything.

He had the containers all glued shut, but he did have a coke sifter that still had the goods in it, and he let us walk around..... I wasn't tempted, but I think one or two were. He also brought roach clips and drug paraphernalia, and usually the art teacher would go, "I thought he was making a pretty vase for his mother!" or "You mean that's not just a necklace?" It was hard not to laugh.

My favorite thing was that he would get a kid to help him inside with the cases. Usually he'd ask the biggest stoner hanging around outside the building to assist him. The next day we would tell the kid what it was he was helping carry. Much hilarity.

From TFA: 'You see? That's what happens when you break the law,'

Walter Sobchak would have delivered the message differently, I'm guessing.

yeah rottndude and alexchilton are right. WTF?? I used to rave quite a bit back in the day and I've NEVER heard of that. That's like all the "Ecstacy puts a hole the size of a quarter in your brain EVERY TIME YOU USE IT!!!!!" and "Ecstasy drains your spinal fluid!!!!" ? It drains your spinal fluid? where does it go? wouldn't that hurt? LOL, yeah it's bad for you but some of the rumors are just stupid

2006-04-24 01:45:43 PM
It doesn't say he tried to steal them. It says he wanted to open the display case, probably to see what the fake drugs actually *were*.

Not smart, but definately a misleading headline.

Not sure if this happened when I was in high school or middle school, but here goes:

We had the police come by one day for one of those drug education things. To this day I don't know what actually showing us real drugs was supposed to do with regards to discouraging their usage. Anyway, it's not normally the highest ranking officer on the force that gets the assignment, and in this particular case it had to be the dispatcher, or the one that got the coffee, because he was none too sharp. He brought in several cases full of REAL drugs (we'll get to how I know they were real in a minute) and was showing us an assortment of vacuum sealed bags containing various mind altering substances. He'd pass them around the room, even. Also had lots of charts and stuff on stands. It was a pretty elaborate event, and was crammed into a rather small classroom.

At the end of the show, he was boxing everything up and preparing to leave. The teacher and a few students were helping. After he left, and school was over, I and a few friends were walking home when we noticed this vaccum sealed package on the ground very near where the policeman had parked his car.

it was about a three or four ounce block of hash. How do I know it was real? take a guess.

that was one of the best weekends EVAR.

That all depends on whether the teen was wearing a demin jacket or a heavy coat.

Congrats, Altoid! I would say more, but Mr Clarence Butterworth just said exactly what I had in mind.

"liquid extacy" is a street name for GHB, but I bet somewhere between the cops calling it that and the reporter, something got lost in translation.

2006-04-24 02:10:43 PM
The kid should have pulled out his cereal box badge and shouted "display case inspector! anybody could have stolen your drugs, I'm gonna have a word with your superiors!" and he would have fooled the cops right away.

2006-04-24 02:14:11 PM
Altoid

Reminds me of the story where the drug officer was passing around about 5 joints, so the kids knew what they looked like, and not all of them came back. So he passes the box back around and says, "If they don't all come back this time, I'm searching each and every one of you." So he passes around the box and takes count and there were now 11 joints in the box, a surplus of 6.

Sounds like an old tale, but funny none-the-less.

yeah but still why would someone dip beads into GHB? why not just take a shot of it? i wouldn't want to walk around with a wet bracelet even if i could get high from it...

/lol @ the fact that the people claiming this kind of stuff are also legally allowed to shoot you
/sigh

Holy shiat, you know what 4oz of good hash would go for these days. That would be a killer find and all thanks to the man. You and your friends must have been toasted for some time. Hats off to you.

/why do cops get to keep the good stuff

"to save everyone the hassle, why not put poisoned drugs in these display cases."

Poisoning drugs? Isn't that like washing a bar of soap? Or spiking vodka? Or ... that's all I've got.

2006-04-24 02:25:05 PM
Mr. Clarence Butterworth

We wound up splitting it amoungst ourselves and that was that. The cops noticed it missing when they got back to the station. They called the school to see if it was left in the classroom. I wonder whatever happened to the cop that lost it?

SWOrah

I heard a similar story, but it involved the cop passing around three, then saying "I better get all those back or blablabla" and when he got them back there were four.

Your version sounds more plausible, though
