I'd rather just see the movie.

2006-04-24 10:36:55 AM
If this is for real and comes to fruition, farkING AWESOME.

2006-04-24 11:01:26 AM
That plus the dedicated physics cards on the horizon mean some rather interesting interactive entertainment in the future.

Now see Donovan's face melt rendered in real time>

Was Indiana Jones a Shadow Priest in PvP?

2006-04-24 11:43:41 AM
I'd rather see it applied to Tomb Raider, ifyaknowwhatimean.

2006-04-24 11:43:41 AM
Just watch Silent Hill.

2006-04-24 11:44:31 AM
Who the hell is Donovan? The folks who had their faces melted were Belloq, Toht, and Colonel Dietrich.

SNAKES IN THE ARK!!!

Donovan aged until he turned to dust, he didnt melt.

2006-04-24 11:47:45 AM
Who the hell is Donovan?

Donovan is the nazi guy who drinks from the wrong grail at the end of Last Crusade.

He chose poorly...

2006-04-24 11:49:34 AM
Maybe they can apply this technology to the next movie to make 70-year-old Harrison Ford move realistically.

2006-04-24 11:52:18 AM
does this mean we can finnaly get a REALISTIC rape game?

That physics sounds really cool. I hope the gameplay isn't too passive.

It's about time video game characters got to interact with everything on the screen.

2006-04-24 11:54:12 AM
face melting is KEY for pvp shadow priests...much like the movie

2006-04-24 11:54:47 AM
Didn't the Half-Life 2 engine do most of this?

/Don't know.
//Looked that way.

Doubt it'll stack up to

Nur-ab-Sal is a mighty god, and his eyes see through.

Jaffiss HL2 was rag doll heavy, and physics were more of a object thing.

Went and RTFA, this should be real cool.

That wailing sound you hear is the collective despair of every stuntman and stuntwoman in the world.

Check out the Crysis demo available in various places, pretty damn awesome and that should be available comparatively soon.

Julian Glover played Donovan in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where his face *sort of* melted:

He also played General Veers in The Empire Strikes Back

The headline made me think of Toht too.

Indy: "See through what?"

Fate of Atlantis was pretty awful for an Indiana Jones game. They characterized Indiana as a goofball who blunders around and gets lucky most of the time instead of the hard, badass he really is.

The adventure game they made before Fate of Atlantis was FAR superior.

Natural motion kicked some arse with that, and it's just going to get better.

Doesn't Indy have experience with snakes on a plane? I believe so.

2006-04-24 12:15:25 PM
I think it's about time to upgrade to those 2 GBs of RAM. I hope this is for PC... tsk tsk if it's only console

Sounds like cool technology, hopefully Lucasarts will sell/license it to other (better) game developers since they haven't made a decent console game since ... um ... ever?

Just watch Silent Hill.

That was awesome!
The little girl dancing part was better though!

Lucasart did not develop it, they're licensing it from a middleware company, NaturalMotion

To bad Lucas Arts is involved. They will find a way to turn it into a bad game with zero support from the company.

/Still waiting for a decent Star Was Battlefront patch

2006-04-24 01:25:25 PM
I saw Silent Hill yesterday.

I kinda chuckled when the little girl danced in the blood.

I also liked the part where the scary dude with the huge sword just grabbed that chick and ripped her apart. That was brutal.

2006-04-24 01:25:29 PM
GaidinBDJ: Holy crap. Definately look at the videos.

Agreed. They are very impressive.

If this works out there is no reason every game shouldn't use it, sports games especially.

2006-04-24 01:26:00 PM
And let's not forget it will most likely only be available for Xbox and Xbox 360.

/bitter PS2 owner

*uses this as excuse to plug day of the tentacle*

best game ever, etc
