SilentStrider: meh. its missing layne stayley.

Not only that, but Buck Owens is on there at 76? 76 is nowhere near "too young".

Glad to see Croce on the list.

Belushi wasn't a musician.

And come on, Jerry Garcia and those others in their 50's... they had a good run. Especially Garcia, who at that point was a dissipated, bitter bloated carcass who cared only about his Wall Street portfolio. He's lucky he made it as far as he did.

2006-04-19 07:23:41 PM
Yeah, about anybody 50+...I'm sorry, but, most of them, um, lifestyle consequences, y'know? Also, 50 or so, not exactly flaming youth.

And right about Belushi....WTF?

Janis. She was going in a VERY different direction with the Kosmic Blues Band and it would have been cool to hear how that turned out.

I totally agree with Robert Johnson, Buddy Holly, and a lot of others but some of these artists were already past their prime or would have fizzled out in short time.

2006-04-19 07:31:00 PM

Having now been though it, amazed there's no Mozart either.

I generally think if someone's past their prime, they didn't die to young (even if they did die young). Examples from the list that come to mind are Carl Wilson, Michael Hutchence.
