He could get LIFE IN PRISON? For "manufacturing drugs"... i.e. growing a plant.... and child molesters are let out?

There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with this picture... and not the one the asshat film developer called the cops about.

Seriously... who the FARK calls the cops about that? Nice job citizen #2596747, you've put a man in jail for life for getting high.

Another evil criminal behind bars, in the name of the "war on drugs". Thanks a lot Mrs Regan! You have saved our society from the worst of the worst... pot smokers.

Just goes to show that people should only own digital cameras.

Film processing? Nada.

You can still use ophoto or some other online photo printing place. Only upload the pictures that won't get you arrested.

/for the rest of them, buy your own damn photo printer

For the combined charges of possessing drugs and manufacturing drugs Perin faces up to $100,000 in fines and up to life in prison if convicted.

i think a "sad" or "sick" tag should have been used...

Cops should have investigated the photo developer too. Out of the thousands of shots he sees, one houseplant in particular stands out? I call bullshiat.

When did photo-developers turn into full time police informants?

An employee at the grocery store contacted authorities and, on April 8, police arrived at Perin's home on the frontage road.

What a narc. How can people like this sleep at night????

I wouldn't rat on someone for doing anything associated with drugs in a state where guns and wilderness are so abundant.

metalhead what would they be investigating?

So you're quoting theoretical maximum punishments... in all likelihood we're talking a couple years... unless he was making meth in which case I say toss the book at the retard.

You have to admit, it is comical when people not only break the law but photograph it.

2006-04-11 04:56:58 PM
I use to work at a photo place, it was highly amusing.

2006-04-11 04:57:16 PM
Why did the photo drone call police? Is he required to by law? Is there any violation of privacy there? Just curious...

Personally I think drugs are bad, m'k. If the guy has a serious meth lab in his house (the article mentioned meth but is vague) then yes, life in prison is ok. OTOH life in prison for some pot plants is not cool. He should get probation and a fine for that.

The guy is clearly a dumbass though. He's 44, he's got a child and he can't finangle $20k bail? Come on, that's just pathetic.

Well, lets see.. someone who grows drugs with intent to sell impacts -far- more people, and causes -far- more criminal activity, than a child molestor.

Im not defending the child molestor - I think they should be castrated and spend life in prison themselves. But creating drugs with intent to distribute can destroy even more lives than even that child molestor.

So yes, life in prison is fair.

won't somebody think of the cannibus?

Actually, from what I've seen here in MT, there is NO tolerance for peepee touchers.

I've read quite a few stories in the paper about someone touching a child, and getting several years for it. In fact, my cousin's husband was accused of sticking his hands down 2 girl's pants. He was recently sentenced to 10 years.

The paper didn't print the whole story, supposedly the mother of the girls had tried to hit on him, and he turned her down. After that, her girls accused him of molesting them. I honestly have no idea if he really did it or not, his story sort of makes sense. All I know is that he was charged, convicted, and sentenced to 10 years + 20 years probation for it.

Do you honestly believe pot is going to destroy someones life?

2006-04-11 05:00:32 PM
Shutterfly.com printed all my pictures from 2 weeks in Amsterdam. My favorite is me outside the Hash Museum standing with a 6' plant on the sidewalk.

2006-04-11 05:01:10 PM
I can't believe this happened way out yonder. Here in the NE, yeah...but out west I would have thought people would be more, how do you say, free?

2006-04-11 05:01:17 PM
His plant needed some of that cloaking the illegal aliens have.

2006-04-11 05:01:54 PM
Sorry but the guy deserves some of whats coming to him for being so stupid. Ya, the sentence is way to extreme. I would give him 30 days for the plant, a year for the meth, and another 6 months for "stupidity" if I were a judge. Who in their right mind (probably the key phrase here) would have photos developed of something illegal and in their own home?

I don't think drugs make people stupid, I think stupidity makes people stupid. I mean, look at all the moron's in the world that don't do drugs.

2006-04-11 05:03:24 PM
What kind of a dill-hole would snitch on someone for having a pot plant?

2006-04-11 05:03:33 PM
mtylerjr, for weed really? Meth maybe and even then only because it is a health hazard to the public to make.

Personally I don't think anyone should get life for anything short of murder.

He won't get life in prision anyway. He is white.

2006-04-11 05:04:16 PM
mtylerjr: someone who grows drugs

ut creating drugs with intent to distribute

the case is sticky because you have a guy making meth aswell as growing pot, we know that making meth creates a virtual toxic waste dump thus impacting those folks who dont even seek it out.

but, are you suggesting someone who grows weed is an equal danger to society and should be sent to prison for life?

2006-04-11 05:04:17 PM
mtylerjr sounds like a republican.

digital cameras exist, no excuse for this kind of dumbassity anymore.

Years ago I took my disposable camera mardi gras pictures to a photolab.
they gave me back a one print and a lecture.
Yay for memory cards and color printers
