I don't see as much of a hero when the person getting around the system is a billionaire. It does kind of open up your options a tiny bit. That said, it was a beautiful maneuver for sure.

Well, I've seen Kingfisher advertising before, but mainly centered around liquor shops.

But he really didn't buy an [already existing] airline. He built it. And it's quite fantastic actually - low prices and good service.

And from what I hear, companies in Norway do something similar. The advertise bottled water with the same name as their beers. Even Kingfisher has bottled water, though I don't see it very much.

I'm surprised it's not done in the usa.

Queue: I'm surprised it's not done in the usa.

It is. Budweiser and Miller Lite all have their bottled water in glass bottles. I dunno when they're going to release their beer.

Kind of convenient that a kingfisher is a sort of bird. It makes sence to name an airline after one. Beer is named after anything, but I don't know many others that would make good airline names. Maybe "Fat Tire" would work.

This is pure genius. I love readin the feedback letters though:

"The channel with great Indian comedy show is a masterstroke! (ok thats just gross)

What can be a better stress buster than a 1st class laughter hangama? (uh WTF is a hangama?? Dali Lama comedy?)

That the snacks were just right for the time of the day (thats just funny someone should notice these two are connected. Snacks and time of day)

the air hostesses were pretty (uh this is a service on his airline?)

& very efficient is understood. (maybe not so much)

There was quite a lot of positive energy, needed so much on weekend evening journey. (At last a reasonable comment.)

I have been on Kingfisher Airlines and the service is about as good as you are gonna get on any airline in any class anywhere.
The beer is pretty good too.

In Russia its illegal for vodka brands to advertise on TV or in print. They get around this by advertising bottled water, the trick being that there is little difference between the word for vodka and the word for water, "voda". Plus both are clear liquids. But you already knew that

Uh... this is news? Kingfisher Air has been established for a decent amount of time. Doing quite well.
Its an effect way of advertising when your country doesn't allow you to advertise alcohol. I give them credit. Either way tho, news this is not. Sorry.

I flew it back in January. Nice aircraft.
Drank alot of the beer too. Not bad at all.
And the hostesses on the flights wear these nice red short skirts, which aint bad either.
