Kokomo sucked so many donkey balls, it's not even funny. I hate that song. I once beat up a diner full of old people because that song started playing. Old people, man, old people. There were dentures and gravy fries all over the ground. That's hot much I hate that song.

veruca: Read above - they're movie music videos.

submitter: Top Ten music videos of the 1980s. Including videos

I don't see the word movie in the headline, jackass.

I have heard that it can be found on any p2p network. Not that I would endorse such a thing. I also remember a video for a Tom waits song "In the Neighborhood." but have not seen it in about 20 years or so, but i can still remember it being weird and sad.

Mr-flibble, no need to envy us kids of the 80s. While I was fortunate enough to avoid the mall-bangs and being a glam-rock band groupie, I was still subservient to the 'pegging' of pants, Swatch watches with the interchangeable rubber accessories and taping songs off the radio to a CASSETTE. Of course, in retrospect I look back fondly upon the era of Whitesnake and bangle bracelets and I totally turn my shiat up in the car when a little Europe comes on. Ahhhh...the good 'ol days.

2006-03-30 02:38:53 AM
I remember was the last half of the 90's, which frankly sucked.

The 90's were sort of non-descript. They didn't have anything really identifiable like the 80's did. The 90's had flannel, a lot of moaning, angst-ridden Generation X'ers and that's about it.

Maybe if you'd RTFA you could have figured it out on your own, moran.

To whomever greenlighted this: You guys are supposed to keep that sort of crap for the TF'ers. Worst. Link. Evar.

2006-03-30 02:42:09 AM
Dooooooood, I was so friggin excited when I saw that headline. I was about 3 seconds from a rock hard woody... then I RTFA, and it was MOVIES.

I too was expecting Ah-Ha to be in the top 3.

2006-03-30 02:44:20 AM
....and I forgot to mention that the Europe tape I had....was one of the freebie 12 tapes you get when you could tape a penny to the Columbia House record club membership and make your selections. Pretty sure I also had some Tina Turner and Cinderalla in the 12-tape-set as well. What a refined musical palate I possessed.

I am quite disturbed by what turns you on.

desolationrow: Yeah, another misleading headline. I always liked that song at the beginning of Donnie Darko. That song rules.

The song is 'The Killing Moon' by Echo & the Bunnymen.

Thank you for consulting your local indie geek.

Again, I was refering to the headline. How hard is that to understand?

Whatever the case, you know what argueing on the internet is like..

Wishing you a good night.

Is there a video from the film Ishtar? Greatest movie ever made.

Just before I started screaming that I wanted my 5 minutes back I discovered they also have a top 10 hotties in there featuring Jennifer Connely. Now I'm Zen.

Mark my words: "Rock the Cradle of Love" will top the 1990's list.

My first concert ever was Dokken opening for Krokus, and I got to shake George Lynch's hand. To everyone else, good effort.

Well maybe some mod could change the title to clear up the confusion for someone who is upset and has to vent because the link isn't exactly what they expected.

2006-03-30 03:15:15 AM
Regardless of the "ranking", just watching those videos and the amount of "Extras" in them gives me only one thought:

Cocaine's a helluva drug.

Kokomo....I might need therapy after viewing that crapfest.

Daedalus27: Well maybe some mod could change the title to clear up the confusion for someone who is upset and has to vent because the link isn't exactly what they expected.

Not upset, not venting, just making an observation.

I used to think that moon cycles having an effect on people was bullshiat. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe the recent lunar eclipse has farked with some farkers' brains leading to mindless responses to simple observations.

I'm going to bed. I have to be productive tomorrow. Maybe you should try to do the same.

This list is the mother of all lists that sucked.

2006-03-30 04:26:28 AM
I have nothing to add to this list, but since everyone else is throwing out fav 80s videos...
Two Tribes, FGTH
Twilight Zone, Golden Earring - boobies!

2006-03-30 04:27:35 AM
I definitely would not hit it. Just look at those sharp knees. She is way below my standards.

2006-03-30 04:30:35 AM
Seriously, don't watch the train wreck that is the Cyndi Lauper video. Unless you have a really farked up sense of humor.

2006-03-30 04:35:21 AM
Also, the number two video features Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks. Rapping. It also has satan style goat headed criminals, for no reason whatsoever. Everyone in every one of these videos was incredibly high on lots and lots of cheap cocaine. Ahh, the eighties.

2006-03-30 04:51:40 AM
My best of list woyuld have to include DeGarmo & Key's Six Six Six video for the hilarious back story. Kind of a dumb video from one of the better Christian rock bands of the time, it was added into MTV's regular rotation, then pulled because MTV felt it was too violent and Satanic, this in the backlash of the Senate hearings into rock videos (Tiiper Gore and Frank Zappa testifying before congress).

This labeling of a Christian rock band as Satanic caused the fundies to go ballistic and MTV was caught in some pretty hysterical crossfire as MTV apparently did not know DeGarmo and Key were a Christian rock band up until after they banned the video. MTV hastily re-added the video after making the band suck up by editing out about two seconds worth of footage.

Still have a few D&K records, they were pretty damned good.

I know what he is saying, but just because the submitted headline is wrong doesn't mean we should to talk about that topic, since the article really isn't about the same thing. Whatever, I guess I'll just put my number on and head to the starting line.

FELLAS!!!! you're arguing, but all he said was "above" and if your comment order is not reversed, it says that "above" in someone's comment that the article pertained to movies... basically, don't post an ignorant comment, if it's already been corrected like third post from top...

Rant over.

Come on...."City of Crime" is a CLASSIC. And the guys in goatskin pants and heads were part of P.A.G.A.N. (People Against Goodness And Normalcy or something like that), the badguys in the movie.

There are no ridiculous Billy Ocean videos. The man was a genius. That said, if anyone has a link to the "Loverboy" video, well, that would just about make my week.

Everyone shut up. Any list with Dokken - Dream Warriors on it is worthy of being linked on Fark.

mr-flibble: How I envy you children of the 80's. That whole Nintendo thing, crazy hair, brick cellphones.....
I unfortunately, was born about a decade late, all I remember was the last half of the 90's, which frankly sucked.

What is funny I would say the same thing but substitute with 70's and 80's. I figure I was born 10 years too late.
/Born 1972

2006-03-30 06:51:02 AM
This was basically the equivalent of tuning in to "Kiss 108," soft-rock for ugly overweight women.

The 80s are 10 years of my life I never want to remember.

Also a child of the 70s. The 80s were just wrong. Way wrong. Way way wrong.

The fact that Tom Cruise figured prominently in at least two of these videos makes me shudder.

And I must be too farking stupid to figure out how to click to the second page. Then again, I don't really care.

If you weren't born in the 60's and didn't come of age in the 70's then you missed out on the heyday of music: Zeppelin, The Stones, and all the bands that did their thing WITHOUT having to rely on a motherfarking video. The MUSIC (and maybe a bad-ass album cover!) was all that was necessary...

I came here to post this - shoulda known I would have been beaten to the punch by a TF-er, and likely everyone else in the thread.

You could have ended it right there. Coming of age in the 70s was incredible... I almost pity the kids of today.
