Grandmother, "I think I might need a birthdays savings club," she said. "I need to save up for the birthdays."

Statement of the blindingly obvious.

After I figured out the headline, that was pretty funny. I'm not good with math or calendars when drunk.

2006-03-28 10:07:43 PM
Hmmm. Let's explore what the "46" in my username could possibly indicate. Hmmm.

2006-03-28 10:15:58 PM
Math is the tool of the devil. Minnesota is the third circle. 3 kids, born on the 6th? Those three things mean that I am drunk. Goodnight.

2006-03-28 10:43:20 PM
Those conjugal visits on Independance day will do that...

Having 3 kids with the same birthday is like fingering your mom.

2006-03-28 10:47:09 PM
ZOMG that's my birthday!

2006-03-28 10:49:36 PM
modest22...while that doesnt make a lot of sense....somehow I am agreeing with you, or at least the Captain is telling me to listen to you.

2006-03-28 10:49:58 PM
My sister and I also share a birthday.

We're twins, though, so I guess it's not as impressive.

fredcat: Considering that each kids going to get what, like $12 a piece, i think granny can dip $36 out of her SS check.

April is the cruelest month, but apparently, these folks can bare it, and bare it, and bare it.

2006-03-28 10:53:24 PM
i'll never recover from the horror of my parents explaining the "coincidence" of my 3 sisters' mid-december birthdays.

/do the counting...there you go

2006-03-28 10:53:37 PM
Scary... that's my birthday, too.

2006-03-28 10:53:38 PM
My two sisters were born on 3 September, eleven years apart. I was born 11 years, 26 days later (30 September).
My brothers are almost exactly 11 years apart too.

2006-03-28 10:54:36 PM
I really wish I was drunk like the rest of you.

my mom has 9 kids, none born in April.

2006-03-28 11:03:21 PM
I was born in February which means my parents actually had sex. I don't know if I can deal with that.

2006-03-28 11:05:30 PM
okay, how may other of you were counting with your fingers?

2006-03-28 11:06:20 PM
I'm sure that having the date posted in the thread title won't entice folks with April 6th birthdays to come in and comment on how freaky that is.

/bow to your selection bias overlord

2006-03-28 11:07:13 PM
That's weird. My birthday is the same as my Mom's. Wait that should have been in the thread for Surgeons remove two fetuses from two-month-old baby girl. Needless to say, such a procedure would be illegal in South Dakota

/not kidding about the birthday thing though
//don't celebrate it anymore since she passed away 15 years ago
/// depressing slashy goodness

2006-03-28 11:21:45 PM
Add me to the birthday list.

/who's getting us a cake?
//seriously, I like chocolate.

2006-03-28 11:24:46 PM
Holy crap, that family reeks of BORING. This year, to celebrate the big day, the siblings had their photo professionally taken... A professional picture?? Gee, thanks alot Dad, way to make the day special. The roller skating party sounds pretty lame too. Only dads who wear brown courdoroy pants and stupid loafers with no laces throw roller skating parties. I bet they all had pizza too. Assholes.

2006-03-28 11:25:32 PM
I work for April 6, so I'm really getting a kick out of most of these replies.

2006-03-28 11:30:09 PM
My brother and I have the same birthday, 8 years apart. And yeah it sucks.

/never get my own cake when I celebrate at home

2006-03-28 11:31:11 PM
This is the natural order of things, at least in the North. Mate in Midsummer, the young are born the following Spring, so they can enjoy a full Summer's growth before they have to deal with their first Winter. Just like the nature shows showing the life cycles of cute furry animals.

/also born on April 6th

No.

my Mom had 7 kids in a 2 week period. last week in July, first week of August. Harvest must have been good on the farm.

This thread reminds me of a moment when I was a kid... watching some quasi-educational tv show. The host was about to read a book, and looked into the camera and asked "When's your birthday? Is it April 6th?" since that was the birthday of the main character of the story...

/I was excited at the time
//I was also 8 years old
///already mentioned my 4-6 bday
////still waiting for the cake

Me and my aunt both have birthdays in dec, mine is the 14, hers is the 21th. That is why we start buying presents in july.

My birthday is better: Nov. 14th

2006-03-29 12:39:23 AM
I was born on my birthday. What are the odds?? That one day out of the whole year to be born on, and it just happens to be my birthday. That's gotta be worth...something.

I've got a weird thing going in my family.

For 3 generations on my father's side, each generation had the firstborn child born on the the same birth day. myself, my father's brother, and father's aunt.

/And no, the family tree is not a straight line, and I'm not my father's brother or aunt, nor is my uncle his own aunt, nor am I my uncle's aunt.
//You sick bastard.

"I think I might need a birthdays savings club," she said. "I need to save up for the birthdays."

You know, I think she'll have to save money for the birthdays. She may have to have money saved up for the birthday presents. The only way she could buy presents would be if she had some kind of birthday money saved up.

Maybe I'm way off-base here, but don't you think she would need to save up some money for those kids' birthday presents? I mean, it seems pretty obvious to me that buying that many presents on one day would be a bit expensive. I wonder how she plans to save money for those birthday presents?

/maybe if she had some kind of birthdays savings club

I have been drinking tonight...but I do not understand...

"The Deering's kids, Robert, 8; Kristie, 1; and Erin, 11 months, share their April 6 birthday simply by chance"

OK...Robert is 8 year old
Kristie is 1 year old (or 12 months)
and
Erin is 11 months old

wtf? That's a really quick gestation period between Kristie and Erin.

I thought I RTFA, but then again.......

kujayhwk: "The Deering's kids, Robert, 8; Kristie, 1; and Erin, 11 months, share their April 6 birthday simply by chance"

OK...Robert is 8 year old
Kristie is 1 year old (or 12 months)
and
Erin is 11 months old

Notice how Erin is 11 months old? He's a month short of being 1, and Kristie is a month short of being 2.
