I really hope that Fred Phelps and his band of hate mongers decide to weigh in on this and picket Ford's HQ. I live about 2 miles away from there and I have a freezer full of piss-filled water balloons waiting...

My family boycotts ford... because their cars are crap.

I ain't buyin none of them queer-ass Fords, by cracky! I'm gettin me a Jesus-luvin fag-bashin Chevy!

What make of cars will the AFA buy? Chrysler, Ford, GM, Suburu, and Volkswagen all have very gay-friendly policies. The only car company that does not get a positive profile from the HRC is Nissan. I guess that all members of the AFA are only going to drive Nissans from now on?

IceWind: "Those who are without sin, cast the first stone"

In some of the newer translations, this equates to:

Those who are without WMDs, cast the first stone...

ersh, darling
I've been driving one, and it's FABULOUS.

And i don't think I'm any gayer than I was last year, darling. Not at ALL.

heh. If I were in the AFA, I'd declare that id Fords was going to accede to their demands, they should jusy keep making cars. When Ford keeps making cars, you can declare victory.

/surprised nobody's said God wrecked Ford's bond rating to punish them for loving the homosexual.
//BTW, is this REALLY the battle the AFA wants to fight?

CanadaDave: Can't you just sit around being smug about your salvation and not, you know, annoy the rest of us?

The problem is that the bible also has a mandate to "spread the word". That is taken by many religious groups to mean denounce sin and sinners and preach the gospel to everybody whether or not they want to hear it. They just can't or won't ignore it.

I don't really have a problem with religious groups wanting to preach the gospel to me. I just politely tell them that I'm not interested. Most of them are doing it out of love or honestly trying to make my life better in the only way that they know how. As long as they leave me alone when I ask them to, I don't have a problem with it.

In the case of this group, they're just trying to get attention. They have to know that their actions aren't going to change Ford's position. Honestly, is Ford doing anything wrong according to the bible? Ford is just purchasing space in a magazine that mostly "sinners" read. Who cares. I don't recall Jesus telling us not to sell things or buy things from sinners.

/I also enjoy shocking them when they refuse to leave me alone.

Ahhh, the AFA, the ONLY reason "The Book of Daniel" got ANY notice.

I WAS on their mailing list, until Feb 9, when they sent out an e-mail that included links to a strip tease that the group wanted us to protest.

So subscribe to their mailing list, and you'll get videos of gyrating, half naked women in your in-box.

Then they try and save face and say "Disney learned its lesson."

Yeah, that Miramax division sure cleaned up its act. You don't want the wrath of the AFA upon you. They're from TUPELO!

Beware... Phelps and his gang make their money by inciting people to assault them and then suing the people they incited. El_Camino_SS has a gret post that he rolls out from time to time on this topic.

wh0mprat: /surprised nobody's said God wrecked Ford's bond rating to punish them for loving the homosexual.

We all know that god is killing soldiers in Iraq because of the love for homosexuals...

2006-03-14 01:50:39 PM
And lo, one day they asked the Lord, "What Would Jesus Drive?" and the answer came back: "Truly I say to thee, Jesus rode a donkey."
Maybe they should buy donkeys instead?

CanadaDave:
Seriously, if you think gays, cartoonists or anyone else are going to hell, then why do you even need to bother with the hate? Hasn't your god taken care of that for you? Can't you just sit around being smug about your salvation and not, you know, annoy the rest of us?

Because they're ignorant, idiotic assholes. Unfortunately, they fail to realize that they will to be going to Hell, too.

They seem to forget that judging and casting hate are sins, as well.

2006-03-14 01:51:28 PM
meshman Too bad they have absolutely no logical reason to oppose it other than "because the bible says so".

Except the bible doesn't actually say so. The ancient world knew nothing of sexual orientation. So, really, these supposed christ-emulators are really just being A-holes. They can't get away with publicly blaming blacks and jews and catholics anymore, so now they've got to scapegoat gays, atheists, childless people, and uppity women.

2006-03-14 01:52:23 PM
Someone should start a religion where it's followers are encouraged (or instructed even) to practice tolorance, meekness, humility. To love other people. To help those in need and to focus on cleaning up your own life.

That would be cool.

The Jewish Pharisees were upset with Jesus cavorting with sinners and tax collectors, healing on the sabbath, etc.

Looks like the AFA = modern day Pharisees

I wonder if any AFA memebers drive Fords, and if so, do they plan on getting rid of them while the boycott is going on? Or will they just keep them in the garage until the boycott is over?

Hmmm...

I'd like to say, "For every Ford you don't buy, I'm going to buy three," but I won't. One, I can't afford to do anything like that, and two, they're Fords.

2006-03-14 01:56:10 PM

You know what Jesus said to them? Pardon not knowing the location or exact phrase but...

"I tell you the truth, I have not come here to save the holy and the rightous. I have come to save the sinners from their sin."

"Is it not right to do good on the Sabbath? Will it not benefit your fellow man?"

JOEKC: There are rumblings that Microsoft will be next. Won't that be hilarious? All these rubes trying to convert their machines to Linux.

Linux would be a stretch as they would likely find commie-loving open-source to be anti-american. Mac is right out for being too San Franciso. I guess they can join the Amish and become ludites.

I just love these boycotts socially conservative groups, and corporat5ions trying to pander to them, until the corporation smeels monbey and goes the other side without nary a care. Like Ford making gay friendly ads, then pulling them because of conservative groups threatening a boycott, bu8t then reinstating the ads when they facoteed in how may gays and lesbians buy their cars.

Or the bycott of Disney by conservatives who didn't like the gay dadys Disney sponsored at their parks. Disney fretted and there were rumblings of canceling the days, but then their sales numbrs didn't get touched at all, so the gay days remained.

Or Walmart announcing it was not going to sell the morning-after pill, but then a state (Connecticut? Delaware?) announced it's state employee health insurance plan would no longer be useable at Walmart pharmacies because they weren't selling the morning after-pill. Walmart changed its tune and now sells it.

All this moral self-righteousness is a bunch of hot air. Money is the only thing that really matters to most people in this country.

2006-03-14 01:57:59 PM
This actually makes me want to buy a Ford.

2006-03-14 01:58:58 PM

2006-03-14 01:59:57 PM
Does this type of boycott activity by the AFA do anything to bring more people to Jesus Christ?

No?

Then stop it. Please.

Oh Nooos! A show about Las Vegas included a scene from a strip club!

Here's a segment of the message they sent out to their subscribers.

Notice how they not only include a LINK to the scene, but are HOSTING it on their servers. That's gotta be a copyright violation there. (Note, the link is dead now. They pulled it after getting a LOT of complaints)

NBC Does It Again! Vulgar, Tasteless, Indecent Scene Part Of Network Program
We Urge You To File A Formal Complaint With The FCC

Visit the new AFA Superstore today! http://www.americanfamilysuperstore.net/

The February 6 episode of NBC's Las Vegas contained a scene inside a strip club. The content of that scene was extremely graphic. We have provided a video of the scene below.

NBC aired this scene during prime-time hours when they knew millions of children would likely be watching. But NBC didn't care if they exposed children to this kind of material. Please take action below and help us help our children.

The FCC has several new commissioners who have spoken out about the content of some television programs. They have invited the public to send them their complaints.

Rather than trying to describe it to you, I would rather you watch it yourself. After watching the video, please follow the instructions to file your official complaint with the FCC. It will only take a couple of minutes to file the complaint. Do it for your children and grandchildren. After you file your complaint, please forward this to friends and family.

WARNING: This scene taken from the NBC program Las Vegas is highly offensive.

Click here to watch the scene.

"If anyone can give me a rational, constitutional reason that homosexuals should not be allowed to marry, then I am all ears. Until then, please stop talking."

Because god says so, according to them. Ofcourse, it really doesn't say that, except to say go fourth and multiply, but then again some people think that Nostradamous predicted the end of the world 17 times.

I, for one, have no problem with gays getting married, but do infact have a big problem with them driving fords. Except for maybe the Focus, which is a pretty gay car with a straight person driving it.

Mr. Anon: Funny how you propose treating people differently just because you find their behavior gross (even though no one is harmed in any way)

Ghonorrhea, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Hepatitis, Herpes, HPV,

and AIDS.

How quickly you forget the history of what groups are the first to be inflicted with, and then spread, "venerial" diseases.

I'm not saying God does this to punish the homosexual. I'm saying that history proves their un-natural acts lead to just more problems for themselves.

Oh, and if I was an evolutionist, I wouldn't love homosexuals (as most "Christians" are supposed to,) I would help them meet the natural end that natural selection deemed them worthy of. Be damn glad I'm not an evolutionist.

Good point. But I think it would be worth it if only to make someones life a little better while we are here. A few weeks ago my wife, myself and my two oldest daughters bought a bunch (40 I think) Dollar menu cheese burgers and handed them out to the homeless downtown denver.

The look on some peoples faces is something that can not be described and I am glad my daughters saw it. They want to go again this weekend. Christs teachings can be very uplifting if you actually focus on them.

I still have a ways to go but I am trying.
