I was following your little argument with Wanbo37 and, though Wanbo and I have had a few disagreements in recent threads, I must come to his aid here. I'll admit it is a pretty silly thing for us to argue over what the native speech of the author might have been but, in the interest of entertainment, I am going to participate. I have to agree with Wanbo here, the author was most likely arabic by birth and picked up english later in life. For on thing, Saudi Arabia is constantly under fire from its neighbors with accusations that it is too westernized and on too good of terms with the US. The population of the country is, no doubt, split on this issue. I think that if I were an editor or chief of a paper in Saudi Arabia (especially one that was going to publish in english, the language of the United States) I would try and avoid offering positions to non-arabic persons, seeing that this might stir up some hostility, or at least some strange feelings from my readers. It just makes sense that an author in Saudi Arabia would be native to that country or at least the region; probably a rich kid who's wealthy oil family was able to send him/her to the US or Europe for higher schooling.

My ten days on Fark? I fail to catch you point here. Are you saying that my opinion isn't valid because I haven't spent enough time on Fark.com?
