I heartily disagree. I think if there was a widely available mail contraceptive pill it would be the end of the human race. In a good way, of course.

2006-02-24 03:01:49 PM
Dude if it meant being able to bang a chick bareback and bust it all up inside her, I'd cut off my left pinky.

2006-02-24 03:01:49 PM
i'd take it

2006-02-24 03:02:41 PM
As long as it's relatively safe, I think it would be wildly popular. There's a lot of money to be made there.

2006-02-24 03:03:17 PM
tonkin; not only did we simulpost, i concur with you dude.

2006-02-24 03:04:41 PM
I call bullshiat... every dingle guy I know would not only take it, but be f'ing religious about it... too many horror stories of women secretly not taking their pills to get pregnant, to say the least.

2006-02-24 03:07:36 PM
Indeed, too many stories ofmen getting ropped into supporting a child born by someone supposedly on birth control for them to not take them.

2006-02-24 03:07:47 PM
I'd give it a shot. The pill (in all it's various forms) does not get along with my wife's body chemistry.

2006-02-24 03:07:50 PM
Dude if it meant being able to bang a chick bareback and bust it all up inside her, I'd cut off my left pinky.

... or get something else "cut"

/snipped... and the wife loves it.

2006-02-24 03:07:52 PM
bullshiat. id take it. unfortuantely, too many men and women would look at it as a replacement for other protection, and stds would increase.

itsdan: Indeed, too many stories ofmen getting ropped into supporting a child born by someone supposedly on birth control for them to not take them.

This is the exact reason I'd take it.

I would take a pill, but id rather have one of those injectable things that lasts like a year or something to that effect.

2006-02-24 03:10:45 PM
Total bullshiat. I am on self-prescribed birth control right now: 100mg of testosterone injected every 7 days. If I could take a pill, I would.

farkingarrogant: I am on self-prescribed birth control right now: 100mg of testosterone injected every 7 days.

Wha?

2006-02-24 03:12:13 PM
Now if they could only package it in the form of beer....

2006-02-24 03:12:39 PM
As long as it doesn't make things swell up too big or too small, and there's not too much hormone weirdness, I'd eat them like chiclets.

2006-02-24 03:19:09 PM
The sooner, the better. It'll make things more honest between the sexes. We don't trust them to birth control, they don't trust us. No one can "oops" the other into an unwanted pregnancy.

/vasectomized
//would have done even if a male pill was available

2006-02-24 03:19:22 PM
Hells Yes I'd take it!

My awesome kid is a direct result of my ex 'forgetting' to take her pill. Although my daughter is still kick-ass! :)

2006-02-24 03:19:32 PM
I would absolutely take it, what the hell is submitter talking about?

2006-02-24 03:20:11 PM
BluesX

A little know side effect of testosterone injections is you become temporary sterile. I use just enough to kill sperm production, but not enough to get many other effects.

2006-02-24 03:20:51 PM
Personally, I definitely would not take it. Of course, that's because I've already had a vasectomy, so I don't really see the point of it.

2006-02-24 03:21:21 PM
Men won't take it anyway.

These idiots have obviously never been a 19-year-old guy with a GF who's "late". I'd sure want to avoid that terror at all costs.

You said dingle guy huh huh....

although I concur.

farkingarrogant: I use just enough to kill sperm production

Seems a little elaborate and/or risky, if it's just for birth control. And is it really that easy to get wherever you are?

2006-02-24 03:33:53 PM
I'd take it in a heartbeat if there were no side effects. Much rather that than getting clipped.

/wants no kids

Polish scientists are working on a "morning after" pill for men

2006-02-24 03:36:03 PM
I always thought the argument was that men won't take it because we're lazy and forgetful.

I always thought the argument was that men won't take it because we're lazy and forgetful.

Except we're not, it's just how we're portrayed in women's magazines, daytime TV, sitcoms, and commercials.

LandStander: men won't take it because we're lazy and forgetful.

I remember being 18-25...I would have taken one on the hour, every hour if it meant I didn't have to worry about sudden fatherhood.

itsdan: Except we're not

Zipster: I remember being 18-25

Oh, I agree. I've just never heard the virility agrument before this.

JUST for birth control? JUST? Did I mention I have a 20 year old girlfriend who is love with me? The LAST thing I need is a "Um, guess what?" moment.

Really, it is neither that elaborate nor very risky at the small doses I use. The miniscule risk is soooo worth the peace of mind and the blowing loads in her.

2006-02-24 03:59:11 PM
farkingarrogant: good game plan. i know dudes that have knocked up women on steroids, so yeah, keep rolling them bones.

2006-02-24 04:05:43 PM
After seeing my fertility doctor who told I should just give up on the thought of kids and told me he had never seen anyone with sperm wearing propeller beanies before me, I think it would be redundant.

2006-02-24 04:08:04 PM
Jesus, farkingarrogant, have you been told by your doctor that this (apparently self-prescribed) technique is safe or effective? Because, you know, you might not have heard of this, but there are other medically-approved methods that are almost 100% effective and generally safe:

Well, I can imagine it has some positive effects :)

I'd be a little leery of using it as the only contraceptive, though, like supichoo said.

2006-02-24 04:10:22 PM
Seriously, how many women would believe a guy saying "yeah, baby, of course I'm on the pill!".

Of course, for people in any type of committed relationship, I think it would be overwhelmingly accepted. And the women would make it happen. "YOU go on the pill, or you ain't gettin' any!".

2006-02-24 04:10:32 PM
i know dudes that have knocked up women on steroids, so yeah, keep rolling them bones.

Nothing is 100% effective. Nothing except abstanance. Condoms, the pill, pulling out ect, all have a failure rate. I can live with 99.998% sterility.(better than the pill) Plus, she is also on birth control pills. Combine the two and I feel pretty safe.

Not all steroids cause sperm production loss. Testosterone does. So, unless you know what juice your friends were on, and the doses, your point is moot.

BTW, are they sure it was their kid? Just sayin'.

Sorry, no linkie:

Approximately 150,000 men every year are evaluated for impaired fertility. Oftentimes a low sperm count and low testosterone are found. Such men are even more susceptible to the toxic effects of extra testosterone on their sperm production. Extra testosterone will stop a mans sperm production and make his chances for fertility impossible! Even giving testosterone in replacement doses, so that blood levels never are higher than normal, will halt sperm production. Testosterone has actually been administered to healthy men in low doses for the purpose of a male birth control. There are medical conditions when testosterone replacement is highly beneficial-but restoring sperm production is never one of them. Fortunately, the impaired sperm production that extra testosterone causes is often reversible, but can take anywhere from 3 months to years.

Testosterone as male birth control

In fact, testosterone has been used as an effective male contraceptive in many studies. Testosterone pills given to healthy fertile men so that their blood testosterone remains in a normal level suppresses their sperm production to the sterile level (no sperm production) within 3 months. Fortunately, the majority of the men had total return of sperm production within 6 months of going off testosterone supplementation. The interesting side note is that with supplemental testosterone kept in the normal range, there were no side effects such as rage and heart disease.

I would be so there...at least until my balls shrivelled up and I sprouted a second arm.

2006-02-24 05:35:29 PM
Yes. Yes I would take it. MAKE THESE DAMMIT

2006-02-24 06:33:45 PM
Why do you hate freedom?

2006-02-24 06:34:25 PM
yeah i'h but could ya freebase or mainline it, hell they could put it in cheetos and them yogurt tubes, that would really pull alot of stupid out of the gene pool. or just give them out free telling people they make them live forever through thte power of sunspots!

2006-02-24 06:34:29 PM
I know that I would take them. I imagine if this became reality, however, you would have idiots that think they no longer need a condom and we'd have an increase in STDs.

Polish scientists are working on a "morning after" pill for men

It's called a push down the stairs.

/ticket, please.

2006-02-24 06:36:24 PM
Most definately I would take it!

I MOST definately would like to HIT IT, I mean, HIT this guy across the head for assuming men wouldn't use it!

I rather be safe than sorry and avoid having a crying kid to look after and burdening a woman with a unwanted child!

2006-02-24 06:36:30 PM
Um, yeah. I'd take it.

2006-02-24 06:37:12 PM
Dammit, if there are so many men here who would take this pill why don't we pool our money and start manufacturing it ourselves? Just think of the killing we would make!!!

2006-02-24 06:37:28 PM
"Even if taking a pill carries only a remote chance of impotence, they won't take the chance"

Uh, yeah. I'd be happy to take the pill but if it means the weenis ain't gonna work, what's the point?

2006-02-24 06:37:44 PM
I'd take it in a heartbeat. The thought of unanticipated rugrats ranks right up there with prison time.

2006-02-24 06:38:34 PM
Hell yes I would take it.

No more "ouch!" moments when accidentally cut/slamming into my girlfriends IUD threads when she is on top.

/Was that sharing? I'm sorry.
//Now, lets just get them to make a pill so women & men can stop shaving every damned 3 days!
///Body hair is a different gene than "top of the head" hair. It can be done, eventually.
