uhhh, like all them maori words confuse me. perhaps im insensitive but i try and vary my pronounciation of such words as whitianga so as to confuse myself and all those around me.

So long as it is offically spelled without the 'h', who gives a flying duck how it's spelled informally and by who?

Why was this even the subject of a referendum? That region of New Zealand must be a very quiet indeed, without the usual problems most other places have in the rest of the world.
