memphomaniac: Forget about what you think about his music, that has nothing to do with this story. Since when is it illegal to be drunk at an airport? Don't they have bars all over the place? It's the only way to fly, so what's up with this? Must be more to the story...

Let's boil it down, shall we?:

- Drinking before boarding your plane = Not bad

- Drinking and acting like jerkoff before boarding your plane = Bad

- Drinking before piloting your plane = Fark

Right when Creed hit the big time, I read an interview w/ Stapp. He said he was tired of his songs hitting #1 on the charts, after the first one banked #1 it was no big deal. He made it to the top and he took it for granted...that's when I started to question this Stapp's actions. 5 or 6 years later, when he denied the 311 fight and claimed 311 started it, that sealed the deal. After that debocle, I read a follow-up interview and learned that the guy truly is emotionally subpar, a candidate for Zoloft intervention. And I truly feel sorry for the other dudes in Creed who had to listen to this guy throughout the whole rise and fall of their band.....

article says he was being a handful. must've been "antagonistic" enough to get hauled off.

remember, there's drunk and then there's DRUNK
if you're the latter, it doesn't matter how many bars are around if you're enough of a disturbance. or a flight risk.

/amazed we're actually talking about this clown.

He should have been arrested seven years ago for naming his kid Jagger. What a tool.

Creed sucked.

Please, please, please, throw away the key...

...think of the benefits: the public doesn't have to hear the same song with a different title over and over and over, and his singing in prison can act as punishment for the other inmates.

I shouldn't have said that, that's too mean.

... NO ONE should have to listen to that crap.

Methinks that in prison, people "won't take him higher," but they'll certainly take him deeper.

I found his solo albumn on the shelf of my local dept store and brought it over to a friend who was shopping in the next aisle over. Being a little out of touch with the mainstream (dont listen to teh radio or teh MTVs) i produced the record to her with the biggest of smiles on my face.

"do you know what this means!!!" i exclaimed

she looked at me and said "god, your not going to buy that piece of shiat are you?"

"no!" says i "it means Creed is gone, and we only have ONE more to get rid of!!!"

she laughed, told me i was indeed right, but it might be a good idea to pop my head out from under my industrial rock once in a while.

/still excited though
//said from day one he needed to be launched into space and left

Stapp demanded a blood-alcohol test at the station, where he registered a 0.18--twice the legal limit.

There's a legal BAC limit for boarding a plane in California?

I hate Creed and that douchewad Scott Stapp. My idiot ex-girlfriend was a Creed fanatic. At 30 years old. For some reason I didn't take this as a sign.

/Creed fans are retarded.

seanh242: There's a legal BAC limit for boarding a plane in California?

That's what I was thinking, If he wasn't driving a car then it doesn't matter what his BAC was... unless he was drunk and disorderly (which apparently was the case).

/hated Creed
/hates Stapp even more

You're safe-- he's actually from Sanford. Those extra few miles of distance should ease your pain.

"Stapp's debut solo album, The Great Divide, was released in November to little fanfare and even fewer sales--it opened at number 19 with 94,000 copies, a far cry from his dominating days with Creed, which sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. "

This little piece of the article made my day. Still, it is 94,000 copies too many. so I shouldn't get too excited.

BTW - guys, trying to board a flight whilst acting intoxicated has been illegal just about everywhere for a long time. Although the actual amount of alcohol in the blood stream is not the really important part (as opposed to DUY) - it's the behaviour that's the important part.

Some safety issues too... if you're retarded-drunk on a flight, you're not going to be much help in an emergency, and would probably be a hinderance. Or even cause it.

Especially if you're a grade-A waste of functioning meat like Stapp.

Scott Stapp is one of those douche's that you know would still be around to spread asshattery even if his tombstone was lined up in the middle of Times Square for everyone to defacate on!

Saddest part of the article I read (People.com):

"The rock singer, whose recent solo album, The Great Divide, went platinum, was released and ordered to return to Los Angeles for an arraignment hearing March 8. "

A million people bought the dude from Creed's solo album? Holy shiat.

If Scott Stapp and Kanye West got together for a project, the results would create a vortex of suck so powerful that the earth would cave in on itself.

This guy was cool back in 1998 for a second then he turned into a jerk. His wife is a pretty lady but I have no idea why she would want to be with a douchebag like that.

/Stapp needs to go find Jesus again.
//Dislikes jerks but LOVES those nice sweet great guys.

Can he not go 6 months without making an ass of himself?

/retorical question, obviously

I would rather masturbate with sandpaper than be forced to listen to Creed.

He also said that he was so disgusted by his booze and pill habit that he nearly killed himself following Creed's disastrous 2003 Weathered tour

What a shame he failed

Gunter glieben glauchen globen

Isn't he out on parole after being convicted of ripping off Eddie Vedder?

I would argue that he actually ripped off Jim Morrison.

Stapp was really into the Doors in high school. Heck, he appeared with them on a VH1 special as the guest vocalist, and recorded "Riders on the Storm" with Creed.

If you listen to him (yes, it's hard) he sounds a lot like Jim.

I did the back stage thing, at a Creed concert a few years ago,

I got to play Ping Pong and drink beer with the Drummer and bassist. they were cool.

The lead singer from the opening act, told me that Scott was a arse.

Back when Creed was really popular, and my hatred of them was at it's peak, I was going to buy the domain name creedsucks.com. I couldn't, you know why? Creed owned it, and had it bounce back to the main web site. How thin-skinned do you have to be to not even allow a parody/hate site of your band? Especially when you suck!

/please can he just go away
//please can the damn radio stations get a clue and stop playing their crap
///Creed sucks! Slashy goodness

Eddie Vedder sang with The Doors at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 1993, so I guess Stapp still wants to be Vedder since Vedder emulated Morrison first.

Hopefully, that means they shipped a million copies of this coaster and then certified it as platinum. Look for them in a WalMart 99 cent bin near you.

You know you are teh suck when someone from the lamest chick band (311) lays you out. Yo, you gotta sh' some rahpekt!

I learned a lot of things about music made in the 90s and its creators in the last few months. I learned that 311 is still together. I learned that Creed is not. I also learned that this Stapp guy didn't make the wise choice and just bill himself on his solo album as "The Guy From Creed" rather than using his one-letter-off-from-a-systemic-infection name.

I also learned that if you're a washed-up has-been drunken asshole whose only claim to fame is groaning over a lackluster standard yeeeeeeeeeeeah-rock combo, it's probably a good idea not to harass Howard Stern's girlfriend on her own TV show.
