I think that it was probably a really unhealthy relationship and it's best that it ended as soon as it did. I dont think that he should be sad about it because if he had married her he would definitely not have been happy in the long run, seeing how controlling and obnoxious she is.

My guess is that he posted this story because he wanted to read the comments and he wanted people to respond to it. So my response is that it's better that you left the relationship! Move on with your life, and don't let her control you again! On the other hand, I don't think that she was neccessarily a bad person, just a little neurotic. But if she's not concerned about his feelings and does things without asking him if it's ok, then obviously she doesn't really care about him. My advice is, be nice and civil to her, but dont let her control you.
