I think the US needs to disarm and dismantle every muslim country in the Middle East with nuclear capabilties. Time and time again these countries have proven that they are incapable of peace. They are idiots. Centuries of inbreeding and no education has led to a group of people that cannot think on a modern day level.

Example: ABC news special. A Palestinian who came to America when he was 5 and was currently attending Yale. He was extremely book smart. But when asked what he thought of suicide bombers, he still proclaimed he thought very highly of them. He even went as far to say he would consider doing it. You can educate these idiots all you want with books, but its their nature to be wreckless with their lives and their neighbors lives. With nuclear bombs and new technology how long will it be before we are there neighbors?

Thethrowdown: Wrong thread?
2002-05-23 07:58:27 PM
I don't know, Thethrowdown. How fast can they bring down a Geocities site?

"Wow, a WHOLE geocities site?"

Yes, The Register is not to be farked with. They have The Force behind them.
2002-05-23 08:00:41 PM
Geocities sites get what? 50 megs of transfer a month?
2002-05-23 08:01:31 PM
My classmates put a webpage up on geocities for their history project. It was farked just from a few interested parents logging on. Geocities sucks.
2002-05-23 08:01:39 PM
You could 'exceed bandwidth' on a goecities site by hitting refresh constantly for 30 seconds. Not exactly a challenge :)
2002-05-23 08:01:46 PM
geocities goes down like chyna
2002-05-23 08:02:10 PM
No way... lets round up all the freaking muslims and force them to live in Geocities. We'll make it seem like a good deal at first, upgraded bandwidth and all. Then we wait a bit, and then start slowly reducing their hard disk space 'til we have them living on a single 100 gig platter. One day, we'll shut em off.
2002-05-23 08:02:13 PM
Should have been here when we brought down that Islamic Jihad site right after 9/11.... (Well, we thought it was an Islamic Jihad site)

(/old-timer rant)
2002-05-23 08:02:15 PM
ooh, I know, let's see if we can take down the entire Register site! :)
2002-05-23 08:02:16 PM
I won't even get into how insulting and overgeneralized that post is. I read threads like these and avoid the others because of bullshiat like this.

So, how many clicks does it take to get to the center of a Geocities site?
2002-05-23 08:03:29 PM
That was Thethrowdown"s post to which I was referring. Oops.
2002-05-23 08:04:34 PM
Hmmm... The Geocities site had pictures of chicks... Pictures of chicks take a lot of bandwidth (compared to html pages with just text)... Geocities is chincy on the Bandwidth...

I'd say two dozen farkers with broadband could have taken that site out in about 10 minutes. But that's just my guess.
2002-05-23 08:05:27 PM
Whoever wrote that article for the register comes across as a real arrogant asshole.
2002-05-23 08:07:09 PM
shiat, I brought down a Geoshiatties site this afternoon by posting a link to one photo on FARK.. what does that make me? The big evil?
2002-05-23 08:07:24 PM
Geocities surrenders.
2002-05-23 08:07:32 PM
Don't Farkers bring down every so often at around 2pm EST on weekdays???
2002-05-23 08:08:16 PM
A google search on "efervescent dildos" can bring a geoshiatties site down
2002-05-23 08:08:19 PM
these bozos know not the power of FARK.
2002-05-23 08:09:43 PM
2002-05-23 08:10:40 PM
Just google indexing a geocities site will bring it down.
2002-05-23 08:11:10 PM
While my site was on Geocities, it went down from 10 farking hits one time. (But it is rather graphics intensive.)
2002-05-23 08:11:26 PM
I brought down the BBC's e-mail system a couple of years back. All I did was e-mail a friend a 13meg file. Took them 3 days to sort out the system.

You wouldn't believe it now when you look at their set up but a couple of years back, they ran on a 28k modem!

That's good investment for you!
2002-05-23 08:11:54 PM
I have a webpage on geocities and a few of my freinds looking at it will bring the sucker down in no time, it really sux! Im looking to try and host my own webpage from a server at home if possible.
2002-05-23 08:13:20 PM
Geocities still uses 28.8kb patch cables is the problem. When a web hit comes in, the cables are connected from router to each specific site.
2002-05-23 08:13:31 PM
If I may say: GOT EM!
2002-05-23 08:15:13 PM
Spider2k, don't bother - more of a pain in the arse than it's worth. Use a paid server and let them deal with the headaches.
2002-05-23 08:15:33 PM

I have selected a totally random site, American Indian related. Please, lets see what time it becomes Farked. Posted: NOW

The Link

2002-05-23 08:17:53 PM
I thoroughly enjoyed the 50+ javascript errors on that page, thanks!
2002-05-23 08:18:31 PM

Come on, Fark can Fark up MULTIPLE geocities sites in minutes flat.

Link #2 about Chevy 350s

2002-05-23 08:18:33 PM
Sucker's tenacious..
2002-05-23 08:26:10 PM
I have one thing to say:

2002-05-23 08:28:37 PM
Farked, Deathcow.
2002-05-23 08:29:30 PM
lol.... .link #2 is indeed farked... lol, Fark must be like the new Register!
2002-05-23 08:30:35 PM
Thanks for the advice Zchamu!
2002-05-23 08:33:13 PM
would it be wrong to fark a random geocities (mabey 2 or 3) site a day until their servers melt into a heap of silicon and plastic...i think it'd be fun
2002-05-23 08:35:22 PM
Link 1 is farked. Poor native americans :)
Wow someday fark might reach the exalted heights of the Reg!
2002-05-23 08:37:11 PM
Link 1 elapsed time: 20 mins
Link 2 elapsed time: 10 mins

Nice work farkers
2002-05-23 08:40:19 PM
2002-05-23 08:41:35 PM
I think the time to fark link 2 is more typical. But Link 1 is a true tribute to our farkpower. (Minimal graphics, javascript errors, all links go off page.) If we can fark that Indian site, we are truly powerful.
2002-05-23 08:44:39 PM
Geocities was horrible before it was aquired by Yahoo. Now, it's just plain unusable.
2002-05-23 08:52:31 PM
My mom's car was totaled today by a car whose driver lost control. Their car ended up on top of my mom's. I intend to submit one of the pictures for a Photoshop tomorrow (that's when they'll be developed) and would have liked to submit the entire site. However, I know that Fark would crash it. Maybe I should submit it to the Register instead and see if their amazing readers crash it then. . .
2002-05-23 08:55:31 PM
Just imagine how fast they would go down if they were in any way boobies related like the reg one was :)
2002-05-23 08:57:39 PM
The mere posting of the Register link has caused the Chatham girls site to go down again. We are all powerful! FARK OwNz jOO! I suppose this makes Fark the new new Slashdot...
2002-05-23 08:59:49 PM
oh and Something Awful once brought down 60 geocities sites within an hour, I wonder what that makes SA?
