Please, such old news. I remember hearing this stunning bit of "news" sometime last year or maybe even before that.

2006-01-29 10:26:45 AM
Like TFA says, the water beds have been on the market for over a decade.

It's not new, and it's definitely not "weird".

Cow comfort? That's a laugh.

I used to work on a Dairy Farm in Disconsin.
You could kick those utter-sacks as hard as you possibly could and those idiotic beef steaks would barely make a sound. They'd just keep chewing their goo.

Sebastion Janakowski couldn't kick those cows hard enough to make them feel anything. This is a joke.

/Don't worry Peta-freaks, even though they wouldn't move, sometimes the milk would come out a little bloody, so the boss made us stop kicking them.

Mmm... tender beef...

2006-01-29 11:58:31 AM
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

2006-01-29 12:03:16 PM
Kobe beef is supposedly good because the cows are massaged daily, allowed to run free and kept in complete comfort so they are not stressed out. Also they feed em beer to relax them.

/mmmm
//Tender, succulent beef

from what I understand these ... cows... you speak of .. they aren't smart?

2006-01-29 12:21:39 PM
Oh they're quite intelligent. And as the article says, they
are a rather suspicious lot. So the person above, they just
weren't expecting him to kick them or whatever. It's a trust
thing. Plus being conditioned as dairy animals is a little
different from the ranged cattle we deal with out here.

2006-01-29 12:24:44 PM
Oh come on. I have trouble believing anyone who has seen a cow in person thinks they're intelligent. They're the opposite of intelligent. They're warm meat that hasn't been deboned yet. They have just enough brain power to keep them from asphyxiating.

2006-01-29 12:25:31 PM
Actually, there's truth to that. Happy cows produce more, better tasting milk. Waterbeds are a bit much tho.

"Happy cows produce more milk" -- Wishful thinking brought to you by the factory farming dairy industry. Read about factory farming. Then read about the lawsuits for false advertising based on these industry claims.

GNE Farm Equipment and GNE Distributing in Visalia have sold more than 30,000 of the industrial-duty beds

In related news, there is such a thing as an industrial-duty waterbed. Maybe that's what they use in brothels?

2006-01-29 01:57:46 PM
Industrial-duty waterbeds? Would these be the models Roseanne or Rosie OdOnnell have?

He will crush the competition once the cows at his place start spreading the news. The cows at the surrounding farms will surely dry up.

2006-01-29 02:46:42 PM
is this ancient news? i swear i saw i whole segment about this on the local news 3 maybe 4 years ago. dairy cows deserve to be comfy. i like milk.

2006-01-29 03:03:54 PM
I guess people feel reflexively weird about eating
something that might have thoughts and feelings.

Hence the stories of "Animal 57" and all that.

This is only 'weird' if you are a brain dead idiot that doesn't have the intelligence to see the blindingly obvious fact that animals are living creatures with thoughts and feelings.

2006-01-29 04:29:16 PM
Anybody who still drinks cow milk, or feeds it to their kids, may want to read up on the hormone/steroid, made by Monsanto, that is pumped into virtually all dairy cows now. Have a fun time drinking cow puss, and enjoy the birth defects.

Why the big deal about "Contented Cows"?

Because the milk from the incontinent cows *tasted funny*.

2006-01-29 05:35:30 PM
Farmer Brown decided this was a good deal. He left the blankets next to the barn door and waited for Duck to come with the typewriter.

2006-01-29 08:16:36 PM
Yay!! Duck for president. Definately better than a shrub. Not that I'm dissin on plants.

2006-01-29 10:51:15 PM
It's all true. I work at a dairy newspaper and cow mattresses are becoming very popular with the dairy community.

2006-01-30 12:48:00 AM
what the???!!
call us luddites but here in NZ the cows just mooch around in paddocks, and like it that way.
