Ok! I get it now. Celebrity doesn't like Magazine printing picture of Celebrity Fiancee. Celebrity threatens Magazine and Magazine's Kids.

Anyone got a picture of this guy and his Magically Underground Fiancee?

In other news:

The McDLT keeps the "hot side hot" and the "cool side cool".

2002-05-21 10:57:40 AM
Damn, Fark... now everyone's gonna be stalking Tiffany Stewart after reading this.

2002-05-21 11:00:07 AM
Here's a pic of Mark and his fiancee:

2002-05-21 11:01:31 AM
cuban made a couple billion selling broadcast.com to yahoo a couple years ago. hes also the owner of the mavericks and got fined 500k for ripping on officials and claiming he wouldnt hire one to work in a dairy queen (that story kicked around fark a couple months ago)

2002-05-21 11:02:11 AM
You know, I can kind of understand why this guy is so upset. If you're the owner of an NBA team, or any sort of rich celebrity, you're going to be paranoid. Cuban got his start on the internet, massing billions in cash. He's going to be freakishly paranoid. I would be too. He's defending the fact that his girlfriend/wife to be's name is going to be in the paper, and she will undoubtedly end up getting stalked. I'm not taking eitherside, but I think Cuban has grounds to be pissed off.

2002-05-21 11:02:26 AM
Kurt Russel is his finacee?

2002-05-21 11:02:37 AM
Great farking reporter. The asshole just lost any credibilty as a journalist. Why even bother calling Cuban? Just ask for his PR people for a news release and print it.

Sheesh.

2002-05-21 11:06:16 AM
Irascible: actually I think he lost all credibility as a journalist when he went to work for D Magazine. Also, Cuban called him, not the other way around.

2002-05-21 11:07:44 AM
Respect? Should I have respect for some egotistical jackass that happened to get lucky domain squatting? I don't give two shiats about this guy's personal life, but threatening a magazine reporter will not help you in your goal of hiding from the media - on the contrary they will eat it up and spread it to the four winds. Ala Fark. Hell 1/2 of the junk on CNN I see on Fark first. Who wants to bet that this will be on Headline News tonight with her picture?

2002-05-21 11:09:31 AM
Like I said in the other thread ... sounds like this loser of a reporter needs his nuts forcibly removed.

2002-05-21 11:10:49 AM
Whoops! They didn't dash out all of the uck's that followed the letter "f". And I'm not talking about the word firetruck here, folks.

2002-05-21 11:12:35 AM
Oh man, I thought Mark Cuban was an obnoxious spoiled brat BEFORE this exchange, but, well, hmmmmm, I guess he's just an obnoxious spoiled brat!
Bug, you sure got that right!
Medfly, nice photo!
And Highlifeman, you have to understand: this guy is not trying to keep his life secret; he basks in the limelight, which is one of the reasons why he mouths off to the NBA so often and gets fined, because it gets attention. If someone will stalk him and/or his fiancee, they were going to do it anyway. He cannot keep his private life that private while being as public as he is. If he were so concerned, he would just step out of the spotlight awhile; by keeping his name and face in the papers with his antics, he puts everyone around him at risk. He chose this life. I'm not saying that is right; that is just how it is.

2002-05-21 11:13:53 AM

swallop, swib swops

2002-05-21 11:15:55 AM
-comment on above photo-

wow, mark cuban is engaged to kurt russell???, now before we go spreading rumors keep in mind, mark cuban will "f--- back"

2002-05-21 11:16:55 AM
HUGE NEWS FLASH: Mark Cuban is a crybaby asshole. Anyone who lives in Dallas (like I do) and is not an idiot (and I'd like to think I'm not) gets queasy watching this jerk make an ass of himself on TV and the radio day after day after day. He could have just been an internet billionaire and no one would have bothered him. Instead, he tried to buy his way into cool. Now his stupid, ugly face is everywhere you look here, and he somehow wants to keep his girlfriends a secret. Nice try, fatso!

Have any of you guys seen his show? He's an assclown. It's embarrassing. He tries to act "street" every time one of his players comes on. Even going so far as to have a DJ scratch in and out of commercials. Loser.

If you haven't noticed, I hate that guy.

2002-05-21 11:18:52 AM
Mccallcl Don't hold back on our accounts. Tell us how you really feel...

2002-05-21 11:19:26 AM
"Oh man, I thought Mark Cuban was an obnoxious spoiled brat BEFORE this exchange, but, well, hmmmmm, I guess he's just an obnoxious spoiled brat!"

hummmmm didn't he WORK for his $$$ and sell a business he STARTED with a college buddy for $6 billion??? that makes him a spoiled brat !? Mark should be every Americans HERO. Started a business, sold it for billions, and started a few more with that cash. He even has something going on with HDTV that HE invented..... am I right ?

2002-05-21 11:24:24 AM
Well, there goes Mccallcl's nuts.

And Vegasj, I don't think you're correct, but maybe I'm wrong too. Far as I know he just happened to hit the lottery at the right time. No better than any other .com'er who sold their stuff at the right time.

Do you think he'd get billions for broadcast.com today?

2002-05-21 11:26:58 AM
you are correct about HDTV. and Tiffany Stewart is the marketing director for the company.

2002-05-21 11:27:53 AM
Vegasj, I don't care that he got the money or how he got it. Good for him for starting a business and earning lots of cash.

There are lots of people out there who have made a lot of money and who are living anonymous lives (Mccallcl hints at that), though. Instead, Cuban is frequently in the news--not for philanthropy (until last year, that is why Ken Lay of Enron was usually in the news; and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is trying to vaccinate the children of Africa), but for his obnoxious antics. Money or no money, he acts like a jerk or a brat. That is just my opinion; others may view his egotistical behavior and call him a hero.

2002-05-21 11:31:48 AM
Anyone have a better picture of his finacee?

2002-05-21 11:35:57 AM
Hey Badjocks, it may not be a *better* photo, but just click "previous" at the bottom of the link, and it will take you to the main story, with a photo of the subject and his object.

2002-05-21 11:39:08 AM
Thanks TexasSkeptic. I missed that when I ran across the story this morning. Any guesses as to why Cuban's going so nuts about this? Is it really about security, or is he just a scared nerd who's afraid a jock's gonna steal his girl?

2002-05-21 11:50:08 AM

Any bets on how long the marriage will last? The length of a celebrity marriage is inversely proportional to the size of ego involved.

2002-05-21 11:53:15 AM
We're talking serious ethics issues here, and I really don't think I would've printed this had I been in his position.

2002-05-21 11:53:48 AM
Mark, Mark, Mark,

will you never grow up? $2bn should be able to buy you a Farkload of therapy dude. Now go out and live a little.

Hey, Badjocks, I think Bad_CRC's photo sums it up: the guy is loco.

2002-05-21 11:56:49 AM
I hope fark is still around for the next followup in 10 years when the same reporter interviews Cuban as he is flat broke and his cradlebound gold-digging GF is long gone.

2002-05-21 12:00:10 PM
Nice sweeping generalization there, Mccallcl. Speak for yourself.

I live in Dallas and I don't think Cuban's all that bad. I agree he acts like a spoiled brat sometimes - whoopdeeshiat. He stands up for what he believes in. The guy uses his money to shake up the system and I like that about him. I'd like to think I'd do the same if I had that kind of mad cash.

And regardless of who the story is about, it is lower than low to print the transcript and release the tape. It serves no other purpose but to sensationalize the story. Although I did find it especially funny to hear the editor cave in to pressure like a novice, only to run the story anyway after they hung up. What an ankle-biting little twat.

As I wrote in my letter to their editor, Cuban is going to be disappointed if he tries to make good on his promise to slice off that editor's balls, because he'll find that they were never there to begin with.

did anyone else notice that this sleazy reporter, at a time that he is telling Cuban he wants to work with him and isn't out to get him, is secretly tape recording the entire conversation. And then promptly puts it up on the website.
This mag is pure pulp anyway.

Perosnally, I think Cuban (as much as I think he's an idiot) is right on this one. This isn't news, it isn't affecting anyone. It's pure shiat being used to sell a few magazines that no one ever reads.

2002-05-21 12:06:39 PM
for the truly lazy that didnt care enough to cut and paste out of the first article..

2002-05-21 12:09:40 PM
Mark Cuban is going out with Tiffany ? Damn, from Playboy bunny to Rich boy playtoy !!! Whatta tramp !!!
(BTW , yes, I know it's not that Tiffany, but hey, anything to make him just a little more pissy !)

2002-05-21 12:23:36 PM
Sorry, but if somebody were threatening MY kid, I would be printing the transcript on Page One too. Well, right after I went over and cut his nuts off.

2002-05-21 12:26:42 PM
Good for Cuban. What is the farking point of writing a goddam story about his fiancee anyway? He thinks someone he loves is in danger and he doesn't want some POS journalist trying to make a name for himself at the expense of his fiancee's safety. Fark that reporter. Then slice his farking nuts off and stuff them down his throat.

2002-05-21 12:33:03 PM
43, in an ideal world, Mark Cuban's life is not a story. But we don't live in an ideal world: we live in the United States. Or even Texas. There is a cult of the celebrity here, where "We the People" actually appear to give a da*n whether Britney has had sex with that Justin guy, where we appear to care about the lives of people on a faux reality show that CBS has endowed FOUR SEPARATE CHAPTERS on us, where we wallow in the details of a former football star who didn't get convicted of bludgeoning his ex-wife to death or of the shape and identifying marks of the Chief Executive's "instrutment of state" or the shape of the nipples of a tennis player who still hasn't hit the big time. So yes, Mark Cuban is news, and every detail about him is news. Why? "Because Enquiring Minds [read "brainless bozos"] want to know!" Pretty pathetic, huh?

2002-05-21 12:35:37 PM
Cuban's an assclown, always has been.

As for Tim Rogers, his failed bit morning show sucked ass, but his column in The Met was always great. More proof that The Met should have survived, and the Observer should have crashed and burned.
