She should have known it wasn't vintage; a vintage dress like that would have been smaller in the waist or really huge on top.

I and a friend of mine have both worn vintage 40s-50s stuff (which is what this is pretending to be) and had to take in the bust. You have to go up one or two sizes to get the waist to fit because they were meant to be worn with a corset or girdle underneath, so unless you have enormous boobs (D cup+) it won't fit right on top.

So between it not being vintage (which would have meant more hourglass-y), and the sequin area making the bust look flatter, it makes them both look pretty thick through the waist. Eck. Ugly dress.
