Anyone remember Greg the Bunny? I miss that show, along with Titus.
Oh, and add me to the list of perpetual House watchers

I'm very sad that Arrested Development is going...but I was more interested to see TWITCH OSX say Quark will "own" InDesign very soon. Perhaps he's right, but calling Quark shiatty? C'mon man. It's not Pagemaker.

Twitch OSX: Thats why its getting cancelled. You cant do that. You cant expect all of the TV watching America to watch your first show all the way though. It doesnt work that way. Simple as that. If you cant roll in in the middle and enjoy what you watch.. then the show will die.

Then why is 24 such a hit?

Arested Dveelopment was teh suxxor!!1111!11oneone!

I disapprove greatly of shows that force me to pay attention and don't have a laugh track instructing me when it's time to laugh.

I also highly disapproved of the fact that you couldn't come in midway through a season and expect to know what's going on... even though that's exactly what I did when I first got into it.
Okay, so they recapped any details that may have been confusing to newer viewers so as to catch them up, but my peabrain was too overwhelmed to give it a chance.

I look forward to the 'Skydiving With Celebrities' Series Premiere after the Super Bowl.

There are new episodes of Greg the Bunny on IFC, I think, with profanity enabled.

Anyone remember Greg the Bunny?

Yeah, they recently showed all the episodes on the Comedy Channel in Australia. It's actually a really cool little show - once you get past the initial "oh God, it's puppets with people" thing, it's funny as hell.

Interestingly, the Greg character wasn't really that important to the show - it was the surrounding characters that worked so well.

On a different note - I've got a show that I'd like to see brought back (or at least released on DVD) and I can't remember the name of it - it was about a guy who was turning into a werewolf, it was made in the early/mid 80s, and had Mike and the Mechanics "Can you hear me running" as the theme music. Anyone?

Also, bring back:

Airwolf
Streethawk (oh yes)
And the show about the three guys who lived on a houseboat, solved crimes, and had a robot.

Quark.. page layout program is very poor. I got learned on that program and once I saw InDesign.. Quark went by by. Yea Quark farked everybody for a couple years with buggy and late releases but still with Xpress 7, they are JUST NOW catching up.. and even thats a stretch of the term. Xpress is dead. Yea lots of people still use 4.1 but they are also still using OS 9 machines that are WAY weaker than my DP 2.5 G5. Enjoy all you want for the next couple years. OS 9 is dead. Get on with it.

How many viewers does The War At Home have? I can't believe that totally unfunny show is still on the air.

Course FOX is the network that also brought you the Kelsey Grammer Variety show. And some show about switching families that they ripped off of ABC, whom ripped off the BBC.

2006-01-18 11:40:55 PM
Given that I'm really kate to the thread, this will be short.

Anyone that claims people find Arrested Development funny because they want to appear smart is a farking moran. I don't care if you don't think it's funny, whatever. But those people who have to go the extra mile and call AD fans elitists or pretentious are idiots. I have never laughed as hard as I do while watching AD because I find it funny. So SHUT THE fark UP.

I will watch "Skydiving with Celebrities" relgiously, but on one condition: they skip the parachutes.

Timon of Athens

What's your point? Since it's such an elaborate storyline, and it was only shown once a week, a recap was nice in order to refresh the regular viewers and catch up the newer ones.

Wow... either that was one of the most over the top pun style semi-trolls ever, or....... someone needs some time away from computerland :-) If it's the former, then bravo, sir.

/the best bit about Quark is that it starred Richard Benjamin and ran on my old Sony Trinitron in colour! Oh, and the Doublemint Twins (ask your dad).

I dont watch "War at home" either but still I would rather watch that than AD or "Everybody Loves Raymond". Its funny because its real. There is no cook in the attic praying to Allah or whatever he was doing. Not that I hate Allah.. but still that was odd. Whatever he was doing in the attic.

2006-01-18 11:43:34 PM
Agreed.
The War At Home sucks big ones. It seems to me to be nothing but a Grounded For Life rehash.

And don't worry shrapnil77, the parachutes will be replaced with bricks ;)

These go away, yet "The War at Home" goes on.

Of course, I stopped believing in justice long ago.

Huh??? How is that show real? And who's up in the attic praying? Did you take the TV off mute while it was on? Not thinking the show was funny and not understanding the show because you couldn't put down the pipe long enough to pay attention are two different things.

Good job paying attention to what he was doing, Twitch... he was in the attic because he's hiding from the authorities who want him in jail for corruption and fraudulent accounting. He had the towel on his head because he kept hitting his head on things in the attic.

The War at Home is a TERRIBLE show. I dont know how people can watch that. Its horribly written and the characters are incredibly heterogenous (meaning they don't have good chemistry. You can tell each frame of dialogue consists of several takes pasted together in editing.. they can't get one whole scene right).

AD Fans are elitists? thats fresh I'm going to read through this whole thread.

Paulseta...

Not sure where your going with that but the truth is that I dont use Quark at all except for the old stuff I have to deal with on a daily basis. If at ALL possible, I downsave to 4.1 and then open in InDesign. I havent created a new document in Quark in YEARS. I cant use transparency or PSD's or PSD's with transparency.. its pathetic. Guarantee that I will not switch back ANY time soon. I grew up with Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Started working where I work now and they had Quark. They taught me that and after about a year I learned about InDesign. Downloaded the trial and never went back. Thats how it is. I get shiat done SO MUCH FASTER in ID. Period. Besides.. I dont have to worry about previews. Quark on the other hand.. I have to screw with forever to get images to view at high res.

And the show about the three guys who lived on a houseboat, solved crimes, and had a robot.

Also known as Riptide

God, I can't believe I remember that. I loved that orange robot when I was a kid.

More on the subject, although I liked That 70s Show and Malcolm, I think they're both shows that are past their prime. Arrested Development is a newer show, and probably not worthy of cancelation except for one thing: I've never watched it. I've heard many people going on about how great it is, but I never bothered to tune in, and I gather that's the reason it's going. For whatever reason most people won't give it a try. I may be in a slim minority here, but I hope Fox uses the new slots left open by these cancelations to try out some new animated comedies. Maybe they'll even bring back Futurama. After watching every single episode on Cartoon network I seriously miss that show and regret not tuning in much before it was canceled. I would give all of these Fox comedies to bring Futurama back.

Fat Horny Black and Joe

WHAT? Wasnt the Dad or whoever the bald guy is up the the attic making videos? I'm pretty sure I saw something like that. Something about him up there freaking out making video's. Was he somewhere else? It looked like an attic to me. Sorry if I'm wrong. Like I said... I only watched the show for a few minutes here and there. It got boring quick so I jumped channels.

Oh.. just saw WSUCanuck's post. OK.. yea but it seemed to me like it was a JIHAD type post. Still not funny. Thats the point.

No, I hope to God they don't bring the X-Files back...they had nine years of that show and only got it right for four, then spent the last four backtracking the first season, pretending they knew what they were doing. The Lone Gunmen, if they haven't been killed off, that would be good to bring back...I only saw Arrested Development once, and I didn't laugh once. I did see Malcolm a few times, and I always thought it was funny, 70's show was hot and cold. Never seen 24 either, but I don't think I'm missing any thing...you never know freedom until you turn off cable and throw away your antenna...

Yeah, but he wasn't praying to Allah or anything...

Seriously...put your hatred for the show aside and rent the first season, and watch it over a weekend or something. How can you judge an entire three season show based on "watching the show for a few minutes here and there?"

The executive producer of Andy Richter, Victor Fresco, went on to create the short lived show Life On A Stick.

That convinces me any TV show that's on the air is all about who you know and the last big hit you had.

Do you mean "trite?" "Contrite" is synonymous with "apologetic."

I admit it, I watch some reality TV? Why? Because I love watching fools be publicly humiliated. Yes, it's cruel, but it makes me laugh and I honestly don't care about the rest.

X-Files has had the best writing in the past .. well years I have known TV to argue with. Its just good. Its entertaining. To Me... It was awesome. I know X-Files had a lot awards for everything so it cant be that bad but then again, Arrested Development had awards but I dont understand their awards.

Reese just bought Jessica Simpson's house for $3.5 million. That's a lot of money for an out of work supporting actor. Apparently, he has not watched enough E True Hollywood Stories and Danny Bonaduce episodes to see where this is going.
