Next big disaster for Domino's:

My sisters-in-law tried to order a pizza from a Domino's here in New Orleans, and were told there would be a $5 delivery charge for one large pizza. Guessing that this was just another attempt by the idiotic corruption that permeates everything else around here, they called the 1-800 number for Domino's customer service to be told, yes, indeed, they are allowing some markets to test this "delivery charge" and it will vary from place to place. We live in a major metropolitan area. It's not like they have to airlift it in. Anyway, Domino's pizza sucks, anyway - maybe the worst out there - but it will be a cold day in hell before I pay them an extra $5 to deliver their craptacular pizza to me.

The problem with the McDLT was that it made the nastiness of the McTomato and McLettuce even more conspicuous.

2002-05-17 03:04:42 PM
How come when you go to BurgerKing, there is smoke coming out the vents, and it smells like hamburgers but when you pick up your food they pull it out of a microwave?

PURPLERECTANGLE: Good observation. I notice the same thing. Also, has anyone noticed that the lettuce at Subway smells like a wet dog??

2002-05-17 03:07:21 PM
I can't think of anything reeeeeally good right now, but we, for some reason, are the test market for many products. We had the "McPick" six months ago. They make sub par commercials for this shiat and then feed it to us. That, or they don't make a commerical at all, but it pops up on the menu. Damn, I wish I could think of something really bad that didn't make it.

2002-05-17 03:07:26 PM
Nabbl: No, the worst pizza is Papa John's. I remember when they first hit it big how nasty all my friends thought it was. Yet somehow they managed to brainwash an entire nation into thinking that pizza cheese is SUPPOSED to have the consistency of a pencil eraser. And that garlic sauce...good god it's like someone jizzed in vegetable oil.

I'm not fooled.

2002-05-17 03:08:17 PM
Speaking of Subway, they have this new Carnitas Sub!!! WTF?? THAT wont be around long.

2002-05-17 03:09:24 PM
the shaq pack looks pretty tasty, what with the chili cheese sauce and all (try the fries with the honey mustard.mmm)

i just don't want to say "shaq pack"

Baldactor: No, unfortunately. Maybe I need to go to the mall more often. But, why is Jesus wearing Abercrombie underwear in your profile? He looks like he could use a Super Big Dick. No, really. He's very skinny.

The best pizza is in the New York City area.Sorry Chicago I have had yours, but it does not cut it.

WarmBeer - I can only agree with you half way. When I was doing my graduate work, I lived across the street from a Papa John's. We used to get it piping hot, and when weget it right away, it was pretty tasty. Probably because it was really hot and really cheap. After that one hour window, though, it does get pretty bad. I have no idea why.

2002-05-17 03:13:25 PM
Subway Carnitas Sub? WHO ARE THE FAST FOOD WIZARDS THAT CAME UP WITH THIS ONE?

2002-05-17 03:13:28 PM
SpaceBiscuit : What about walkin' tacos... take a bag of "foil" lined fritos, crush em' up and fill with taco meat, letuce, cheese, ect......, saw it at a state-fair once.

I had these in middle school. We called them Pepper Bellies!

The BEST "cheap" pizza in California is Round Table.

Explanation about "McPizza". I believe this was a Canadian McDonalds experiment. It lasted about 4 years I think. You could order personal pizza's(Like the ones you get for lunch at Pizza Hut) for around 4 bucks. You could also order a large, like you would at any other McDonalds. McD's supposedly designed 'Super Ovens' which could cook pizza faster than any other oven. I seem to remember waiting in line for a crappy little pizza. Not the biggest flop, but it should be in the top 50.

Anyone remember Hot Dogs being sold at Wendy's? They had a square bun!!!

2002-05-17 03:15:15 PM
For the record, I worked for Domino's from '90 to '95 (from 92-95 as either an assistant manager or manager). Drivers were never charged $3 for a late delivery. 90% or the time the pizzas were late when we were really busy, and just couldn't keep up. 9/10 of the remaining were caused by fark-ups by the people making the damn things. We fired drivers for speeding or driving like arseholes and they all knew it.

I can't say the same is true of every franchise in North America, but it was CERTAINLY never corporate policy to ding the drivers for lates. The manager or franchisee would have hell to pay if that ever got up to the big-shots in Detroit.

They still sell Shamrock Shakes here in Maine, god bless their hearts ...

Does anyone remember Burger Bundles? They came out from Burger King in the summer of 1988, they were little 3-packs of miniature cheeseburgers. I happended to work at BK that summer. They were so overwhelmingly successful, that BK dropped them. Serioudly, those things were like crack cocaine, people would order 4-5 at a time and pop them like prozac. The restaurant I was at had two people a shift just making those damn things.

Good times, good times ...

Yeah......they called 'em Burger Buddies here in Mass.
Me and my buddies would get reefed and gorge ourselves on them(we didn't know any better).

Does anyone remember Pup N Taco?

2002-05-17 03:17:29 PM
Big flop: "Cluck when you order and get 50 cents off your chicken Whopper!"

BTW, I loooove Shamrock Shakes! Please don't refer to them as leprechaun jism. That tastes nothing like a Shamrock Shake...

2002-05-17 03:18:32 PM
Burger Buddies - I remember, now - about the size of Krystal burgers - maybe a little smaller, and round, not square - but tasted like little hockey pucks with mustard. We have a Krystal at the top of Bourbon St. About three a.m., that place has a line out the door. Those little greaseballs really hit the spot when you've been pounding booze for six or eight hours.

2002-05-17 03:18:34 PM
How has Krystal stayed open? Disgusting.

Has anyone had What-a-Burger down south? The ultimate 3am gorge out.

2002-05-17 03:19:55 PM
There is this place in the midwest called "mugs up" they serve "loose meat" sandwiches (sloppy joes) this place rocks.

2002-05-17 03:21:28 PM
The only fast food burgers I eat are Fatburger (THE BEST!) and In-n-Out. Too bad I live in Jersey.

2002-05-17 03:21:29 PM
When will Farkers quit whining about Pop-Up's and get friggin Pop-Up Stopper?!?!?!?!?!?!

Won't someone please think of the children!

2002-05-17 03:21:31 PM
I'd like to see a fast food place that has Wendy's burgers, Wendy's fries, and Wendy's frostys.

Oh, wait.

Akazanar I have Opera, and normally turn the "Refuse all popups" feature on, but sometimes have to accept them, and I forget to turn it off. That happened here. Damn popups suck.

2002-05-17 03:24:11 PM
I've never had New York Pizza, but it'd take a lot to bump Chicago deep dish from the top of my list.

2002-05-17 03:24:12 PM
McDLT = haha extra styrofoam for the environmentalist
McRib = McGrissle

Why doesn't McDonalds call their fish sandwich McFish? Remember when BK called their fish sandwich The Whaler? Taco Bell had a product called the Chilito which turns out to mean "little dick" in Spanish.

2002-05-17 03:24:36 PM
I thought of one. (see my previous post) We had Bratwurst at McDonald's as a test market item. They tried it twice!

2002-05-17 03:25:13 PM
JERSEYTIM: I didn't think they had In-N-Out outside of California. They are friggin good. ummmmm Double Double

2002-05-17 03:26:32 PM
Taco Bell had to put more real beef in their
tacos or the government would'nt let them
call it beef. They use a caulking gun for the
sour cream. Everything is lard based and microwaved.
Nastiest restaurant ever.
Should be ranked as a failure.
Sadly it's my favorite food when I'm drink.

2002-05-17 03:26:43 PM
In Nova Scotia during the summer, McDonald's serves McLobster sandwiches.

True story.

2002-05-17 03:26:48 PM
Of course, the main claim to fame for the McDLT was that its advertising campaign gave Jason Alexander (better known as George Costanza) his first television exposure.

"The McD! *clap clap* LT! *clap clap*"

Aside from that, yeah, it was a pretty stupid idea.

2002-05-17 03:27:00 PM
Hardee's (what Carl Jr's used to be) swiss mushroom burger

2002-05-17 03:27:46 PM
HEYNOW: "Sadly it's my favorite food when I'm drink."

Are you going to Taco Bell now then??

Fugginaright, I had it in Vegas. It was delectable!

2002-05-17 03:28:09 PM
Chicken Littles from KFC ruled! If those were still around I might actually eat at KFC again.

Baldactor: I figured out the Hiln*gger, heh. But, I am ROFLMAO at the recently-set-alight donkey imagery!

Collusion.org is my brother's work, mostly. But, there are quite a few contributors. I contribute when I can stop farking for long enough. We appreciate the visit!
