too bad he did not have shortness of breath before he broke the tie to cut student loans... thus making the interest rates higher for students...

He started with a life in public service, but moved into corprate shilldom after building that life up. Remember folks, Millions and Millions of dollars are no good, if you don't have your health, or you had to betray your country to get them.

Haven't figured out what FTFY means, but I'm not so in touch with the kids these days. (Not sure what the F's stand for, but is the T for THAT, and the Y for YOU?)

Clever... And engaging on the border of reason. Hah! Age of Reason, get it?

But, what has he stolen? Or is that another lie that some keep telling themselves until they believe it?

Fark the students. What have students ever done for Dick Cheney? They're not joining up to fight and he'll be dead before they even start making a living and paying taxes.

are you still mumbling away from the corner, HKNPLR?

he has been "cut a huss". a quick search of the thread reveals no mention of 'libby' - his #1 and a man who couldn't lie straight in bed

does he deserve respect for allowing such an idiot and threat to national security into such an important position?

2006-01-09 11:33:30 AM
HKNPLR:
Unfortunately, I've only seen a handful of comments that wish the VP well. No matter your political sway; the man has spent a great portion of his life working as a public servant.

I don't see it that way. I, and many others here, feel he has spend a great portion of his life manipulating the system for personal gain, and that is not something that should be lauded.

"From what I have read they have said that Bin Laden is incapable of launching or directing attacks against the US. However, other members of his organization operate independently with that goal, therefore, killing/capturing Bin Laden would not meet the ultimate goal of dismantling his group."

Wow last time they assumed that 9/11 happned, it's been proven that they were thourghly warned about bin laden attacking and did nothing, it's almost like they want it to happen again....

The amount of Anti-American rhetoric in here is amazing. Why do liberals feel the need to hate their own brothers, sisters & countrymen? Seriously, this is an important man in our country and you lot all think its funny to laugh at his minor health problems? I bet you are all making your mothers oh so proud.

Good luck Mr. Cheney, our prayers are with you and your family.
Good luck America, in spite of what all the libtard farkers say, some of us do care greatly about what happens to this country and its leaders.

You're either a troll or you're the "Get A Brain, Morans" guy who finally discovered Fark.

HA HA! You called someone a Libtard!

More mumbling, 21-7-b:

I see reveling on the left, when I suggest Cheney is cut a huss for his potential health problems.

I didn't say anything about Scooter Libby, but, while we're at it: Please tell me what Libby has been found guilty of?

Granted, he has been indicted, though not for a matter of "threat to national security" but instead for one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements.

NOT indicted for outing an alleged "CIA Operative" that was a desk jockey at Langley for more than 5 years, and whose "outing" posed no threat. She doesn't appear to be concerned though, what, with the publicity photos and such.

But, that's just me. Mumbling.

You know that these quotes are taken out of context, right? Sorry, I forgot you are an idiot. Of course you didn't know!

Personally I found the post more of as a joke. These things are always taken out of context, and I found his post quite humorous considering how much of the elections was about Kerry being a flip flopper, also largely based on out of context quotes.

And, besides: VP Cheney is a supporter of the Czech Republic, a matter which I believe we can all agree on.

with a name like moral_purity, I'm pretty much thinking he's a troll.

But in all seriousness, sounds like Dick has CHF, which can and will still kill him.It is serious and will not go away from a simple diuretic. That only is used to try to keep the fluid from building up around the heart.

sad, isn't it HKNPLR? you tried to defend cheney and then you made youself look a fool as you failed to do so in any way. now instead, you rely on posting pictures of women in various states of undress as support for your 'case'

in fact, i think that your mumbling gets you deeper into it now

Granted, he has been indicted, though not for a matter of "threat to national security" but instead for one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements.

so, in other words, he was indicted for lying. this, the man at the center of the wmd allegations that led to war, is a man who will lie to hide his and cheney's involvement in the outing of an ciaagent

given that much of the evidence used to build the case for war was incorrect, given that bush has tried to prevent investigations into the administration's role in that and given also that libby would appear to be willing to lie to try to hide the administration's role, then, i think that it is indeed a matter of national security - the very highest matter in fact

They aren't releasing enough information to really know.

After 4 heart attacks and peripheral artery disease in his leg(s), all the telltales are there.

It may be like they've announced, a side effect of the other medications, or else they brought him in for some intravenous Lasix to really pull the fluid off fast, and discharged him with Lasix tablets to follow on, and are using the side effect story for cover.

If that's the case, we'll see more trips to the hospital, and longer stays. He may be able to maintain status quo as long as his kidney function holds up.

HKNPLR: the man has spent a great portion of his life working as a public servant.

I think what gets to many people is that he's also (apparently) worked to make the public his servant.

I'd still wish him well though, since being ill sucks.

i think that CNN's "X" over Cheney's face is kinda like what happened in the movie "the Omen" when the photographer discovers the death slash in his picture. the Omen is coming to fruition.

you can't be an evil bastard like Cheney and escape karma.

So who takes Darth Cheney's place if he bites it? Isn't it that psycho Dennis Hastert? And if he does, who will Bush take his orders from? He cant be expected to make decisions on his own now. Bush Jr is to Cheney what George HW Bush was to Reagan. The 'Vegetable Backup' system.

kuta,
If Cheney dies, the Speaker of the House, a position which is currently not permanently filled, becomes VP. There is no "Bush appointment" you morans.

You're wrong.

The procedure is the Prez nominates a new VP upon vacancy of the office, who must be confirmed by a majority of both Houses. But I wouldn't expect you to know that since that's only been the case for almost 39 years (Remember Gerald Ford? Can you even spell "Gerald Ford?")

"Morans" indeed... It's cute when somebody who has no clue starts telling everybody else how wrong they are. Now go back and play in the sandbox.

I work for Dick Cheney's doctor, so I am really getting a kick out of most of these replies. Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about.

But trust me.... You don't.

I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you don't know what you are talking about. This is how bad info gets passed around. If you don't know about the topic....Don't make yourself sound like you do.

Cuz some Farkers will believe anything they read.

for hours now your lack of objectivity and attempts to misrepresent the halliburton contracts, have seen reduced to posting pictures of women in bikinis in a thread about cheney

Rumor has it that the reason that the CIA is bothering to pursue this is that a deep cover agent who had worked with Plame in the past died as a result of her being "outed".

Of course, the CIA never acknowledges more than just the fact that an agent died, so we'll probably never know whether or not the death was really associated with Plame or not. But it would explain why they were willing to anger the President by demanding that the case be pursued.

Wow...

As Australian, this thread just boggles my mind, and not in the cool "Game of Boggle Dice Game" way.

We don't even generally know who our Dep. Prime Minister is half the time (our direct equivalent to your VP). Then again, our Prime Minister is so firmly entrentched and in charge that it doesn't really matter too much.

Having said that, there's no point in wishing ill will on someone, even if you totally disagree with their thinking and/or actions.

I mean, I'm a pretty centre in my views, so I really don't go for either the extreme right or left that tend to show up here so often. I wonder sometimes what it's like being so hungry to make a point so agressively. Then again, it's easy to sit here hundreds of miles away and pass judgement (although I was in the US in September and October 2004, and got to talk to a lot of people all over the country - very enlightening), so I should probably not think too hard about it :-)

Look, the best way to work against something you disagree with is to back off, do your research, gather your evidence, and present it in such a fashion that you don't come off sounding like a total lunatic.

The amount of times I have been so frustrated with a group of morons protesting for a point I agree with in a way that makes the point invalid... you know? The messenger can be so over the top that any ideas they are trying to present wouldn't be listened to by any rational human being.

Maybe it would be easier if we all became actors - apparently they always have all the answers politically...

(By the way - ever notice how actors/musicians who hate the Bush admin never come out with anything stronger than faint condemnation - as if they somehow don't want to lose all their "red state" fans by saying what they *really* think?

I think the cautionary tale of the Dixie Chicks has sunk in... and the only actors/musicians who do say something really harsh are people like Sean Penn, who seems to have some sory of emotional balance problem:-)
