I think it looks a lot like a Lotus...

2006-01-07 04:06:49 PM
Wow. Is that ever a clean design. Looks like a Lotus Elise up front, and a bit like an old Alfa Romeo Montreal in the rear.

2006-01-07 05:17:39 PM
Actually, it looks a lot like a Miura

Heh...I just saw this on the Camaro link and thought of Matchbox.

Washington State University is paying $60,000 per nut. Give em a call should get a good down payment.

I wonder if Lance Armstrong might be willing to give me even more for it.

I love the Miura, and the last thing Lamborghini needs to make is a retro design. They have had one of the most progressive designs thoughout their history, so I can't see why they would want to look back instead of moving ahead.

How uncharacteristicly boring for a Lamborghini design. No sir, don't like it.

2006-01-07 07:09:23 PM
Lamborghini's styling never really appealed to me...it looks as if their entire line of cars is stuck in the 80's.

Retards, it's retro design of the older Miura. They aren't copying VW or anything else.

Please, shut up morons.

Another volkswagen clone.

Back looks good - front looks dodgy. Too retro - a backward step. The Countach looked more modern than that.

Because that's what everyone's doing. It's a rather nice design, but I prefer the angular funk of the 80's to the Matchbox racer look of some of these concepts.

BTW, sirgrim, is that a firetruck, or what? It's kind of cool in its own wierd way.

Lamborghini seems to have really gotten bland in its designs. The Gallardo and the Murcielago (spelling?) are kind of dull looking. For that amount of money, I want it to look exotic, like the Diablo or Countach.

These days, Ferrari is a lot hotter looking.

I rather like it. Better than the close (but no cigar) Challenger-- which they'll hopefully fix by production since I think it has the potential to be nice-- or the Fugly Camaro.

Still not as good-looking as the Lotus Elise, though, as far as I can tell. Nothing is, really. Everything nowadays seems fat and bloated, and while engines are putting more and more power out, things just get heavier and heavier.

Wake me up when I can get an Atom or Seven at the automall.

I don't really understand the intrigue with cars really... I mean sure, some may look cool but why pay $50K for a nice looking car when you can pay $20K for essentially the same thing just a little less "fancy"?

Zerk Schrader: ...Still not as good-looking as the Lotus Elise, though, as far as I can tell.

The Elise is super beautiful, especially in person (it's even prettier than the photos when you walk right up to it) but you should also see the Ford GT in real life. I saw one on the Interstate on the way home the other night and it just blew me away. It's low and small, too. Geez, is it gorgeous!

I know everyones doing it, but Lambo doesn't need to. As much as I liked the Miura, the angular Countach was my favorite too. Marcello Gandini needs to do the next one, not VW/Audi designers.

Guess I should blame J. Mays, damn VW New Beetle and Audi TT.

That said, I love the retro muscle/pony cars, so much better then the crap they were designing in the 70's and 80's.

it's dead sexy. Same with the Murcielago and the Gallardo.
It's art... rolling sculpture.
Some of us appreciate it, even though we'd never be able to afford it.
Why buy a fancy expensive car when a mass-market grocery getter will suffice?
Why buy a painting for your wall, when a poster will suffice?
