That is the strangest and nerdiest thing I've seen in quite a while. Pretty cool, though, in its own weird way.

Is this what math nerds do while driving around?

This reminds me of the Bill Gates thing where you added the ascii values of the letters together and got 666. Or any of the thousands of examples of how numbers can seemingly do magical things when interpreted loosely enough.

At least HPZ will like their "Home" icon.

That's all I could think of while staring at the only icon that has loaded in 6 minutes.

Hmm...large images of road signs directly linked to a Fark greenlight...

Nah, nothing to worry about there!

Attempted to load the page... been loading for 10 minutes. Surprised Firefox hasn't just given up. One image has loaded. Going out for a cigarette, will see if it's done anything in 15 minutes...

docsigma: Attempted to load the page... been loading for 10 minutes. Surprised Firefox hasn't just given up. One image has loaded

I got the whole menu bar, after about 15 minutes (just had it going in its own tab).

I'm gonna look through about:config to see if there's something like webpage_max_load_time or something.

shhhh! Hold on, guys...it has almost finished loading...

The only math I do while driving is calibrating my speedometer between mileposts on the interstate. It does helps keep you awake. Only problem is, now I pretty much have the time-to-speed numbers memorized.

Nerdy while driving.

So you can add, subtract, divide, or even multiply these numbers!?? I had no idea you could do that with numbers. My head asplode. driving+math=gay

falser took me a couple secs

when I was a kid I went on a lot of road trips with my folks, and I learned math, reading, and basic navigation by reading the maps and following the road signs. I'd learn the names of so many places, and my parents would tell me how to pronounce the hard ones. I would work out our ETA based on current speed, work out better/alternate routes, etc. Plus the maps are colorful and interesting to look at when you're a kid.

so I'm a nerd. fark you.

Driving in Canada we'd pass a mileage sign like 'Moose Jaw 94 km' and instantly say, "That's about 58 miles." My wife would look over, frown, pull out the calculator, and see that I was really close. She was very impressed with my astounding mental math abilities.

It went on for two days until she caught me glancing at the speedometer and reading from the KM/H band across to the MP/H band on the speedometer.

Hey Guys!

Thanks for all the interest in Road Sign Math! The site experienced some "problems" due to all the load, but I've since moved all the static content to an external hosting site. We can deal with 20x the load that we had before. You can see the significant drops in this MRTG graph from moving content around.
