That river's going to want another truck about an hour later.

2005-12-19 08:21:36 PM
OH NO!! WHAT should we do!! Will there be a shortage? what of the sacred worship of TFSM???

is it a sign?

2005-12-19 08:31:57 PM
SOMEBODY must've pissed off FSM.

2005-12-19 09:08:03 PM
if you can find an eddie in the river - enjoy some

2005-12-19 09:09:18 PM
The driver was traveling eastbound on I-40, apparently at a high speed, when officials say he lost control of the truck.

The trucks on 1-40 still scare the shiat out of me, and I've spent the past 3 years driving in Boston. Truckers like Tennessee because we spend our tax money on roads instead of, you know, schools and stuff.

Eddie's in the river?

I was going to come into the thread and complain about how the use of the tag seemed pretty insensitive, considering a guy probably died, but then I saw mrCasual's post, and I laughed and laughed, and now I'm all better.

2005-12-19 09:14:32 PM
Spiffy? It appears at least one guy may have died if you RTFA.

2005-12-19 09:14:55 PM
Ramen is Japanese...

2005-12-19 09:17:13 PM
Yeah, I think the Spiffy tag was a little too cold hearted. Really, the only thing the driver did wrong was go a little too fast. It's not like he was killed by a mob for diddling little boys or killed by a prematurely exploding suicide bomber vest.

2005-12-19 09:17:34 PM
Chinese food in the Raman River, huh? Sounds about right.

2005-12-19 09:18:27 PM
im sick of all these damn truck drivers going so fast all the time. they seem to go even faster in bad weather for some reason. i laugh everytime i see a truck overturned going around a bend in the freeway. asshats

2005-12-19 09:18:52 PM
TVA has already hired an outside contractor for the cleanup.

2005-12-19 09:19:57 PM
I know that stretch of 40, there is s steep downgrade just before the bridge. I wonder if the driver lost his brakes?

2005-12-19 09:23:17 PM
I'm reading on another local news site that officials are worried about hazardous materials in the trailer.

...what kind of Chinese food was in that truck again?

2005-12-19 09:25:23 PM
Bah! The only difference between beef and chicken flavor is one is saltier than the other.

/but which one?

2005-12-19 09:27:11 PM
And mrCasual wins the thread with the Boobies...

And yeah, not really spiffy. Maybe amusing for the name of the river being Raman, though.

/Chinese food on the way even as I type
//fortunately no rivers between here and the Chinese place

2005-12-19 09:28:15 PM
Wildhare5: Chinese.

/doesn't like any -ese foods

Perhaps the reason they seem to be going faster in bad weather is because you are going slower. Most professional truck drivers that I know are aware of the limitations of their vehicle and know what is "too fast"; they have too much to lose by being careless.

Ah, and the filter owns another one. Let's hope mrCasual's wife/girlfriend was posting for him.

Man boobies are no good.

I'd still rather drive 100 miles on I40 than one mile on the Capitol Beltway.

Am I the only farker who read the headline and started to think of that massive clusterfark on I75 in cincy this afternoon?

Did anyone else think of the fantastic fight scene between Peter and the chicken in Family Guy? 'Cause I sure did.

Chicken...gave me a bad coupon..

Hello, the river is NOT named "Ramen"
It's the Tennessee River, RTFA folks, don't buy the submitter's joke.

submitter is heartless and i'm hungry.

Was I the only person in college never to eat ramen noodles?

I mean maybe like once?

/snot

2005-12-19 10:12:14 PM

/in other news, you can buy brick ramen from amazon.com ... WTF?
//they want twice what I can get it for at the local HEB
///and "Oriental Flavor" means "extra garlic"

2005-12-19 10:14:08 PM
RedheadGrrl: Was I the only person in college never to eat ramen noodles?

No, ramen noodles suck. People only buy them because they cost virtually nothing.

We all die one day. Would you rather a guy get to go out in a blaze of speeding-semi-exploding-chinese-food-100ft-drop, or slowly wither away as he pisses on himself in his bid in a state run old folks home, waiting for the nurse to wipe the slobber from his chin.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO? WHAT. WOULD. YOU. DO?

InflatableJesus

No, ramen noodles suck.

I'm gonna pretend I didn't read that.

Really, the only thing the driver did wrong was go a little too fast.

He went through a concrete barrier...

Someone has been playing too much burnout takedown/revenge.

/what was his score?

Insurers estimate the loss at approximately $10.

how goes those brutal winters as of late!? when i was there, it was smooth-sailin' mild winters.

It's one of those 'Asian Food, St. Paul MN' tucks. ya' know, the ones you see at every generic Americanized Chinese food place that has the same menu pictures.
