Ratings for "PI" have been solid but never spectacular. And Maher lost some advertiser support after the Bush White House misinterpreted a remark Maher made about the U.S. military in the aftermath of September 11.

Uhh... the white house itself misinterpreted his comment? or PI's advertisers did. Sounds like there's a reason this guy's writing about TV shows & not politics.

I'd like to go on record offering the Juggies a place to stay once the show ends. (The Man Show Boy will have to fend for himself)

If I recall correctly, Ira Watchamacallit [from the White House] said something in one of his press meetings about Maher saying that 'we were the cowards'. Then the shiznit hit the fan w/ the advertisers.

Either way, what Maher was saying was that it was weak of our politicos to call someone a coward while they order other men off to fight and shoot missiles. [also, he was referring to Clinton & the congress not to the military]

I agree, the show was a one joke show. There are so many more ways to talk about beer and womens boobs without lowering to stereotypical caveman antics.

Does anyone remember exactly what Bill Maher said? I remember it happening but it didn't send me into convulsions like it seemed to so many others. I mean the show is called Politically Incorrect. Feh, free speech is dying.

The Man Show sucks. The only thing that show had going for it was that kid with the beer.

Nooooo! I like the Man Show. It might not be sophisticated comedy, but its over-the-top boorishness cracked me up. As a straight chick, I didn't get much out of the Girls Jumping on Trampolines, but the Man-O-Vations amused me...the Wheel of Destiny was pure genius...the sock puppet porn sketch was classic...and who could forget that random audience member who ate a whole stick of butter for $100?

Free Speech is not dead. All Freedom of Speech means is that you can't be arrested or in any way restricted from expressing your opinions BY THE GOVERNMENT OR ANY OF ITS AGENTS. People tend to forget that little clause. Freedom of speech soes not protect you from a) getting fired, 2) being dragged through the coals by the media, III) being flamed in a Fark forum.
