So let me get this straight, LIKE NIXON. Assuming that this is a crime if somehow bush gets charged with a crime of illegal wiretapping. This would make Dick Cheney the President of the United States. In which case Bush gets a Pardon/clemency and no one goes to jail. Hmmm.

The entire US government is in on this. Democrats included. They all (almost) voted for the patriot act when everyone was in shock after 9/11.

I'm a recovering Bushbot myself, since 2003 or 2004.

Sad to say, you're considered a liberal if you oppose the Iraq invasion. My uncle is a Bushbot, and he accused my mother--his own sister--of being a far-left radical for opposing the war.

From what I can tell my mother is a moderate liberal. I'm very conservative. We don't see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, but we're still close.

I've been reading up on the GOP response to the wiretap story.

I am not liking what I'm reading. In fact, the entire story damns Congress (for not doing their jobs), the court system (for abdicating it's responsibilities) and the President (who should have KNOWN better) in equal measure.

There's just no way anyone up on capital hill can come out on top in that story. They all played their parts.
