Scientology is not a religion by any definition. They don't worship any deity. They believe they're superior to non-Scientologists because they've managed to exorcise the billion-year-old aliens who demonically possess everyone. Their cult members have to sign billion-year contracts. You don't hear people bad-mouthing the cult once they leave, because Scientology's lawyers have ruined many lives (credit ratings, jobs) and sued those people into poverty. Even the creators of South Park are now getting sued, and Scientology's lawyers have almost unlimited funds. Only after this cult is finally broken apart (which could take decades -- it's very lucrative and exists by scamming people) will the truth come out. It was a joke perpetuated by L. Ron, an unmedicated schizo, who allowed it to develop when he saw the potential for making millions.

Learn all you wanted to know about LRH right here:

http://www.factnet.org/Books/BareFacedMessiah/index.htm

It's a fascinating read, especially the part were he sends a crew of teenagers to an island in the mediteranian to find treasure he took from aliens in a life 1000s of years ago and punishes them all for not finding the treasure.

Of course the time he spent as a close follower of a Satanist trying to birth lucifer into the world is equally as interesting.

Scientology knew their golden goose when they saw it, and undertook to inculcate him with their Kool-Aid to ensure they'd have a devoted follower (and the the attendant Cruise money) for a very long time.

Is there any truth to the assertions that Miscavige is Cruise's Crisco boy?

Yeah, Golden Era Productions. Impressive compound, no bullshiat about the security. One of my co-workers was there last week (a Nextel site on the property) said it was tight but the people were VERY nice... On one hand they brought them lunch, on the other they got escorted on restroom trips. I was working at Disneland last week, the Disney ninjas aren't that uptight.

I've driven by that compound a couple times - highway 74/78's a pretty way to get back to LA after exploring Palm Springs or Idlewild. I knew the compound was there, but still thought at first one of the indian tribes in the area had bought land next to it and was building a casino. In my opinion, the compound's gaudy and showy, much like the casinos up and down I-10; only real difference is that there aren't the tall buildings like you get with a casino.

when will people stop calling scientology a religion

A cult like Scientology becomes a religion when the original founders die off. At that point, nobody in the cult is alive who knows wether or not it was all a big scam, and the religion is no longer a system to generate wealth, but an entity unto itself.

If you want to really understand Scientology, read 1984. The final step in the IngSoc revolution was to kill off everybody in the party old enough to know how the revolution actually happened. Once that had been completed, nobody remained to question the party, and nobody remained with the power to dismantle the party.

It's best to go to the source for information (if you want to learn about African-american culture don't go to a KKK website). If you just want to spead lies and hate, knock yourself out.

The only good movie Tom Cruise has ever been in is "Outsiders".

What kind of mind control techniques do they teach there?

What I can't figure out is how Tom Cruise gets all these seemingly intelligent women to hang out with him for years. And don't say they're a beard--Nicole Kidman or Penelope Cruz could have anyone, they don't need to make a deal with a whacko like TC. And they must have known he was batshiat crazy long before the rest of the world did.

According to former Elvis crony Lamar Fike "One day, in L.A., we got in the limousine and went down to the Scientology center on Sunset, and Elvis went in and talked to them,"We waited in the car, but apparently they started doing all these charts and crap for him. Elvis came out and said, `F(ark) those people! There's no way I'll ever get involved with that son-of-a-biatchin' group. All they want is my money.' . . . He stayed away from Scientology like it was a cobra."
