My asshole roommates bought a hookah. They smoke, filling the house with the distinct smell of burning plastic, then spill white ash all over the living room and don't clean it up. I wish they went back to only smoking pot.

I go to college in Ames, IA, and we've had a wonderful hookah bar here for a few years now called the Chicha Shack.

I don't smoke regularly, but it's a good place to just sit and talk to people. The smoke is smooth and very tasty. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who likes a good one. ;)

...Definitely would recommend it myself, but they charged $10 at Chicha Shack last time I checked. I'd rather just use the hookah at my buddy's apartment a little further down Welch, which as an added bonus offers more smoking choices than flavored tobacco.

Smoking tobacco in a hookah is a very enjoyable experience. The smoke is cool and smoothe plus it tastes really good. It's always fun to sit around a hookah with some of your closest friends just talking and what not.

I don't typically smoke anything, but hookahs are occasionally fun. It's definetly a social thing (especially with multi-hose ones) and the flavored tobacco (shisha) tastes quite good. It certainly isn't good for you and shouldn't become a habit, but it's fun once in a while...

Doesn't putting weed in one just waste a lot with the burning coal even when you aren't breating it?

95% OF FARKERS DONT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HOOKAH AND A BONG.

Hookah's aren't great to smoke weed out of, they are non carb'd and use a coal to basically vape the tobacco

althouth a lil weed mixed in isn't too bad, if you dont mind the wasteful aspect... works alright for me since im not a big time pot smoker but enjoy an occasional buzz

Our favorite shisha is Two Apples from Nakhla with a little bit of mint flavor sprinkled on the bottom.

The Red Poppy's been open since last February, and the Chicha Shack in Ames has been open for over a year. Both have been extensively covered in local papers, and the legislation was passed last spring to regulate them. This is nothing new, and it's deffinately not "wierd."

I hate the red poppy. They charge $25 per bowl, no exeptions. They give you one coal and when it dies, you're done, even though its clear there must be sheesha still to burn. I went there twice at the begining of the school year, and on my first trip back to the Chicago Suburbs, I bought my own Hookah for, hm... $25. Yeah, fark the Red Poppy.

Hold on, smokin' weed out of a hooka is fun, BUT there is no carb and you really end up wasting some. Also, shisha tastes sweet and interesting and is much thicker so if your into blowing rings or tricks like that it works better then weed. Plus, for kids like me that still get a buzz off nicotine it's that much better.

my shisha tobacco says: Nicotine: 0.05%, Tar: 0% - compare that to a pack of smokes.

you also tend not to smoke it everyday.

OK when the fark did you guys ever encounter a pot smokin' bastard that ever thought about the amoun that they were going through before they were on the last bowl. When I was in colloge we built a gravity bong out of a garbage can, 2 5 gallon watter bottles and about 20 yards of plastic tubing. the farking bowl held a quarter OZ for fark sake. When you are twenty and throwing a party wastfull is not in the vocab

maybe with indiana ditch weed that's the case, but when you're paying 100+ for a 1/4 ounce, you tend not to do stupid shiat like that, or have the need to smoke more than one normal size bowl at a time unless you want to be KO'd for the next few hours

Hookahs are made for tobacco. There are some hookahs that are built differently for bud (with open-topped glass bowls that pull out), but the ones that use coals are tobacco only. The smoke gets stale and nasty, and it just doesn't work that well. Sort of like smoking pot in a filter cigarette, it works, but there is a better way.

Oh, and grytpype-thynne, that may be a crappy bong, but that's still a farkin' sweet hookah.

The Red Poppy is kind of expensive. And I always ended up sitting on the ground. They have free hookahs at the Hillel in IC, but then I have to actually be around other Jew folk. Regardless, I was there Friday, smoking coconut tobacco.

And I don't really consider one hookah bar a craze. That would be like saying that there is a pulled pork craze in IC because they opened The Pit.

I bought a hookah recently (Seattle) and really enjoy it. The shisha lasts forever and its great to smoke while watching movies. Word of experience though: Don't smoke if you have the flu. Puke city

agreed. one bowl of decent quality shisha will easily last 2 hours. i usually get tired of smoking it before the bowl is cashed... hell, i can only buy like two containers of shisha at a time because i wont use it all before it dries out...

Yea right I'm in 'colloge' and there is very little wasting, what kind of weed are you talking about?? A quarter oz. is around 70-80 bucks in Santa Cruz, no one cares that little even about there parents money. My favorite coffee shop started renting them out, and it totally ruined the atmosphere.
